if that image is depicting melee combat then yes. It is accurate but to be fair there are still alot of veteran who could improve their melee game. But yes yes i feel like these when enemies are endlessly spamming quick attacks and I counter and counter and counter and it seems as if they never learn that they have more than just a light attack. If the image was more accurate it would show all the monkeys dead on the floor and the man standing on them. That is how it feels when facing newb enemies. I should not be able to take on 3-4 people in melee at once as a Wolfpriest using only Fang Of Morkai, yet here I am killing powerifst users cause #newbswilldie Until the newer players decide to learn from the veterans who know what they are doing it will always be like this. Not to mention some veterans are just straight up blasting and refusing to help newbs soooo yeh thats not making things any better either.
Not gonna lie... I strongly suspect more than 70% of my damage taken in games, as a melee player, is from allies blind-firing into melee. I'd love to see damage statistics upon death. It's amazing how many players shoot through me to kill an already-downed enemy for what... 30xp for the finish? It doesn't even net them a kill on the scoreboard... I can frequently get multi-kills, but only really by being a sneaky git and backstabbing the unaware. It's rarely possible for even a long term veteran to beat 2 opponents, unless they are so new to the point where they do not even block in melee.
EC is grouped v ungrouped right now, matches aren't even remotely competitive or balanced. Very little fun to be had.
