That short story was awesome! It is so cool for current fans and will be a great way for new players to get really into the race that they choose. If every race has a short story as well (I really hope they do!).
I really like how he managed to explain what common 40k things like bolters and krak grenades were without breaking the rythem and action of the story. Great Christmas peasant for Crusaders!
It looks awesome and loved how the short story was both entertaining, well written and built a visual image of an epic intro to the game in my head. I also noticed how he wrote it in a way so that people who had never seen or heard of Warhammer 40 000 before could understand what is going on as well. Very poetically descriptive. As for people up in arms over the Iconography on the Devastator, just to confirm with others here in the channel on it being Squad Markings. He is a Devastator attached to a Tactical Squad on assignment acting independently of their full battle company ( the <-No.-> symbol, which is what is written in the short story). They are numbered according to their squad ranking and position.
