It made them supreme tarpits @ Jazz - other armies at least still have access to fearless, even if at an extra cost. Ah well, before I decide if this was a supportable change, I will first have to play a few games with the new rules
Well so do we. If we really want Fearless for something, then we can slap on Grotsnik - albeit at a premium. It's probably what I'm going to do with large mobs of slugga boys or something.
...what about my camping 15-man loota squads no bosspole for them, at leadership 7 they are gonna leg it as soon as 4 of them get owned.
We may need more kunnin' tactics for them. Maybe loading them up in a trukk (throw in a Mekboy?) or adding a Painboy to the mix? A 4+ cover save and 5+ Feel No Pain is pretty survivable, despite the premium.
Hmmm, interesting, where's the cover save coming from? Wouldn't they also more or less be pinned/sent packing when trukk blows up?
Well the cover save would just come from cover. Any decent tabletop board should have plenty of cover to hide a trukk or at least a gang of Lootas. Also, it's not guaranteed that the Lootas have to take a Pinning test. Even if they do, they only have to snap shoot for a turn, only cutting shooting by 50% (which is really good compared to other shooting-based units). They even get an increased cover save when they go to ground. The entire point of the Trukk is to prevent casualties whilst also providing an opportunity to relocate if necessary - for a bargain price.
ah I see, but that's what I mean by campers, I dont like to move them. I just wanna keep em static and shooting. But heck, I'll probably try Flash gitz now and see what gives..
You can keep the Trukk in the same place. Think of it like a fortification that can move if needed! But yes, check out Flash Gitz. Despite the loss in 4+ save, I have a feeling that they'll be much better than they were...
