I think there should be no special treatment for officers, because some people would strive for leadership just for "oooh, that shiny trinket", but not of an actual idea of getting people together and getting results - which is a true benefit of true commanding.

Other things is just selfindulgence and such people shouldn't be leaders in the first place.
