Getting this off my chest: the grass is always greener for LSM and CSM alike

  1. And considering the plasma guns accuracy is terrible 90% is a big ask!

  2. They could do it with specialist ammo that CSM doesn't have access to. Technically CSM are not meant to have the plasma cannon but that's not stopping them equipping it. So it seems that "just because" is a valid reason for balancing decisions :)
  3. Good point. I think alot of us can agree that a factions power level currently is connected with melee capabilities and strength. I believe this is why LSM is suffering, because they are so oriented around ranged combat. The current map layouts and size of locations means melee is almost ALWAYS a viable option. Where as ranged<melee. So it makes combat feel unbalanced.

We have "better" ammo than LSM if we count lore.:D

  5. Yeah, is it Thousand Sons who have those special rounds? That would be a cool subfaction flavour to give :)

In our case some Kraken, hellfire or vengeance rounds would be sweet :)

Kraken and vengeance yes...hellfire are for nids only no?
  7. They are meant for tyranids but who wouldn't want to see a target dissolving with mutagenic acid? :)

You don't actually need to improve Chaos weaponry alongside the LSMs, unless you've found yourself in the Iron Warriors, Night Lords and Alpha legion most Chaos equipment is on the trashier end of the quality spectrum, they are either scavenged or weapons in poor condition after 10k years of warp "modification" and battle. Honestly the Chaos shouldn't even get mods, the aforementioned warp mods should be more up their alley.

Also some of the weapons are lore different, take Plasma for example, their plasma hits harder but it should also overheat far faster than the LSM equivalent.

Also why does Chaos have Storm bolters? Last I recall you denizens of the Warp are still strutting around with Combi bolters.

And Kraken rounds work on anything with a pulse.

Great post and I completely agree. To add onto your statement, with Apoths another thing, if you are a melee medic, you are generally IN the midst of battle. A lot of times as a wolf priest, I will be melee'ing enemies and a teammate will get downed by another melee enemy. Well since I have to literally be on top of him, I have ZERO way of reviving him, and being so close to the enemy, we are now engaged in a battle of beating the down player to death because his dying body is lying in the way between us, ultimately killing him. You'd THINK rolling around would position you away from the body but somehow..it doesn't. This happens, time and time and time again making it extremely hard to ever revive people if you pick a melee healer (WP) or apoth with a crappy chain sword for reasons you've pointed out.

As for Shieldbro..look I've faught that battle for months, but these forums had/have too much of a anti-LSM agenda to ever get a point across or for the devs to care which is why I gave up hope a long time ago of LSM ever actually being good or it's classes.

I've declaire many, many, many times the importance of caping classes, it WINS games, not shields, not killing, not melee attack speeds, OHK etc. But CAPTURING and since capture points will apparently ALWAYS favor the melee classes LSM will forever be SEVERELY handicapped. I would give up the shield entirely too be able to capture, it is far more important than any shitten shield, sword or gun. People for whatever reason fail to understand that though, and clamored that SB was to OP even though LSM were losing more games, just as they are now and it's a fight that these forums will not relent on and allow LSM their proper place as EQUALS among the other races, not inferior.

Again even with the "LSM" buffs coming I don't expect much at all, all the facts and stats in the world can't compete to the amount of hatred for LSM around here.
  10. A good metric to see to judge if capping is an issue for LSM would be to see LSM win/loss % as Attacking/Defenders, I don't think we saw that did we?

Cause I mean...Eldar have only one capping unit, ranged and less flexible as well and they have no issue with it currently so it might NOT be the capper.

But I would still like to see LSM win rate for defense/offense.
