  1. Its hilarious that Dorito Pope is right now the only games journalist we can trust.

Yes he makes biased reviews and such, but the whole "Devil you know" thing.

That sounds like censorship to me, I'm sure your government hasn't ever stopped articles that make them look bad even if its truthful. The US doesn't need laws like that because the telecom monopolies push their agenda on all their tv channels and site and thats what 90% of the populations sees and believes. Oh and these companies are the government by this point since congress and the electoral collage only listens to their funding.

  3. You're right, they don't at all, but that isn't what I'm talking about; What I am pointing out is that when you publish a review of something, they expect a creditable professional critique, which means in the case of games that you've played it and in the case of books or movies that you've watched it or read it first. Though it's so loose in it's establishment that all you have to do is say "yes I have". :p So in such situations it's your professional credibility on the line. Also those laws are mostly in place to protect against corruption, the pushing of agendas and cases of nepotism. However, in the case of reviews or news of products which are being advertised by that magazine, they do check for signs of nepotism before they pass it for publishing. So it isn't so much censorship as it's to protect against consumer manipulation and corruption.

We don't have censorship, we have "watchdogs", people who check for foul play. And yes people have been caught.

As for anything else, that's entirely up to the ok of the owner of the magazine I guess.

Companies own companies that own companies that own companies, At the center of this all is a monopoly getting all its troops together to push the same message. You thought there was competition in this capitalism? You thought wrong.

  7. It's completely legal to dispute them in court; Many often do. And they answer to said departments I mentioned before, so yeah they get watched in turn.

Well technically there is... at the top of the pyramid there are actually 5 or 6 competing mega corps (2 being in the UK and France respectively, one being in Italy and one in Japan, the rest in the US). Still doesn't excuse the issue.

A whole subreddit for a completely genuine legal company has been banned. It was probably a spam accident not because the site in question has a opposing opinion to the one that hosts that forum.

I would never suggest that it would.

He had a valid criticism and got fired and blacklisted for it then got lumped into #GamerGate by the IGF without him even knowing what it was.

Edit:Half hearted non apologies are starting to trickle in I suggest you not open them or accept them because 1.)They don't mean it 2.)Their lords at Gawker are going to take all the revenue from the ads and liquidate everything else and leave the soldiers high and dry with nothing anyway.
