Not sure what to do at this point. I have done everything that I can think of. I installed update 1.0.15c this morning, and the game will not load at all. I checked that all my drivers were up to date, also made sure that it was not a steam problem by starting a different game in my library and DOWII Retribution starts with no problem. So I deleted game content, restarted steam, then reinstalled game. Tryed again and nothing. I restarted steam again nothing. I looked at the build# and there is a problem, the update notes says its Steam BuildID: 1397754, but when I looked at the build# in properties says Steam BuildID: 1397876. I don't get this when I did what was asked to fix a build issue. I really love this game I have put in 150hrs into it. I hope that there is a patch soon to fix. Maybe someone can push me in the right direction. I will even try something that a Xeno or Heretic or Green skin suggests. Thanks in advance I also "Verified the Integrity of Game Cache" also and to no avail.
You not getting any messages. Cos if your getting a message saying " error connecting to eternal crusade servers it maybe a problem with your firewall or router configuration" . Then i got a fix for that . I made a static ip address and it fixed it.
Checked if the firewall is blocking ? Have you reverted from uat(test server) and back again? Opt out of beta.
You tried just waiting for a while to see if it starts up? Some peeps say right clicking the exe and "run in windows 7 compatibility mode" worked for some. Sometimes in the installation folder for eternal crusade there is a folder containing the dx files needed for the game, you could try opening that folder and installing the dx files again . I think it is called runtime.
Well thank you for that grogun. Tried is morning and what do you know it works. Freaking software sooooo frustrating it not funny.
