Soon as Cero heard the horrors incoming, he twirled his spear and took a battle stance. As soon as he got a line of sight and the opportunity he vaporized two in a single blast of energy. The heated edge cleaved through three more without effort. Culling the horde was more an endurance test than of skill for Thunderhunter. With Baron Cero agreed, focusing on wiping out the handymen first and foremost.
Readying his weapon at the sound of hordes of morphos encroaching on them. He turned towards them the oncoming horde and after hearing what Baron said, he aimed towards a so called "handyman" and pulled the trigger, after a short delay the beam blasted out towards the creature but completely missing it and instead vaporizing and blasting apart three regular converted instead. He stamped his feet on the hard metal making a loud bashing sound floor in frustration of not hitting the intended target (or not hitting more) all the while not losing eye contact with the on coming hoard. (OOC: 3 Converted)
@Casavay @BuriasDempsey @The_Raven @Maleth @Vulpas @Wata @SpaceHulk @Wincent @Azathoth As Shay, Vaadh and Xiuhacotal pressed onwards, there would be no Morphos coming out to greet them just yet, and instead found a group of Trelvani soldiers, a grand total of twenty soldiers in all with ten of them equipped with gladius and shield, and the other half equipped with laser weapons. Evidently they had gotten lost after the initial push inside, their starlen guide evidently had wondered off assuming they would follow. Whether they were alive or not was anyone’s guess but that was not the matter at hand. Moving forward and tracking the comm signals being transmitted by the other team they would eventually find them after walking through the bloodied metal halls of the colony ship. But before they could be relieved by finding their objective so quickly they realized the main team was currently under attack by a mixture of things. Firstly, there were Morphos that while physically unchanged, were having a glowing yellow substance leaking from their mouths and eyes, They had managed to slay a group of Korin Marines and were advancing upon one of the other Lieutenants who seemed to be busy with hacking. Secondly, there was the veritable horde of Converted that had managed to smash their way through the Federation combat droids. Simply overwhelming the Droids with their numbers, climbing over their dead and charging through the droid kill-zones towards the main squad. The overall situation seemed rather dire. It was a small consolation prize that the Microtank had inflicted similarly dire damage back, with it’s main cannon firing right into a dense cluster of Converted and leaving nothing but gore to show for what had been about thirty Morphos. As for the hacking, Jakora would find that her Technokinesis was well timed, managing to get past the more complex part of her hacking. The rest would be rather trivial but still required her attention but at least she would be able to draw her sidearm. Something that would come specially hand considering the group of handymen moving towards her. Objective: Hold off the Morphos as Jakora works on the Defense Matrix (Enemies: 63 Converted, 7 (1 wounded, Wounded Handymen only need one attack) Handymen) (Allies: 1 Starlen Microtank, 8 Standard Federation Combat Droids, 10x Trelvani Line Troopers {Melee} and 10x Pillum {Ranged} ) (Modifiers: Dead Korins: 1 attack to destroy a body.) (Cero, Shay and Kirgon may kill five Converted, Jakora can kill one, Everyone else may kill three Converted. Handymen due to their enhanced physical ability and having actual weapons require two attacks to bring down. 2 Converted kills = 1 Handyman Kill.) @Vlayden In the air the Dragoon danced through the sky while listening to their strange music, avoiding the smaller winger converted. They were fast creatures but not as fast as the Crimson Avenger which fired its weapons at the much larger creature classified as a brute. The high explosive rounds piercing its rancid hide and exploding sending chunks of flesh into the air creating a red mist. But this was not enough to bring the beast down, though injured it continued flying its pain enraging it even more. Its screams of unfathomable rage pierced their music as it moved trying to attack the fighter but to no avail. Its clawed limbs would only hit air as they pilot dodged around it, but even as they did this they would notice this creature was moving beyond speeds one would think possible for something that should be slow and lumbering. It defied biology, this monstrosity made by a blue dust from beyond the stars. Objective: Survive (Enemies: 1 Winged Brute, 8 Winged Converted) (Five attacks, attack on the Brute is a strike. One strike equals 3 attacks)
Shay instantly springs into action motioning with her shield and sword for the Trelvani troops to form a shield wall around the hacking Jakora, with her at the tip of the curved wall of silvered metal and hard-light. she also motions for the Pillum troops to line up behind the wall to provide longer ranged fire with their heavy rifles. this is the standard unit strategies for Trelvani troops, to fight a defensive that would not yield Shay stabbed the tip of her sword into the ground and then drew her sidearm and unloaded the entire clip of her heavy laser pistol. she made sure to overload each shot and turned 2 brutes to a sludge-like ashy substance and obliterated one of the converted. she then holstered her sidearm and took her sword back up while the deadly pistol re-charged from her armours fusion cells.
Turning around to see what had gone well such as the reinforcements, and what had gone wrong like the massacred droids, Jakora's first instinct was to grumble to herself "Alright, who was the idiot who tempted fate?" However, she couldn't exactly ignore the risk of the dead Korin Marines near her, so with a simple act of Pyrokinesis, she set one of the corpses alight with a small stream of fire from an outstretched hand to render it unusable by the Morphos. With that done, there was the question of if the Royal Guard should rely on the rest of the team to save her from being Handyman food, which would allow her to get this hacking business sorted or if she should go on the offensive there and remove a few handymen with an invocation of her powers. Suffice to say she turned her main attention back to hacking, trusting that everyone would realise who needed to be defended from attacks. However the Starlen did attempt to set a few of the Korin corpses near her aflame with another, yet more 'spontaneous' burst of flame that would hopefully save her some grief further down the line from any Korin Marines coming back as Morphos right by her. OCC: Destroyed a Korin corpse, Invoking Pyrokinesis to destroy more corpses.
"Out of the frying pan and into the fire." Xuiah whispered to himself, seeing the mounting casualties as the the main squad seemed to be defending the Starlen hacking into a computer console. With the Trevalni soldiers going to form a defensive perimeter around the Starlen, the Seeker aims down the scope of his rifle as he stay back from the worst of the fighting. With a crack of energy and a green burning round was fired from the barrel, slamming its way through the legs of one of the morphos with the glowing substance leaking from their eye sockets, blowing apart the muscles, tendons, and femur bones of the Handyman. But even without its legs it tried to move forward, making the Sovran waste another found in taking off its arm, and a good portion of its chest, to put it down for good. He switched over to another target, one of the 'normal' types if you can even call them that, that was getting to close for comfort and popping its head with another round going at high speeds. OOC: killing off a handy man and one converted.
"Damn these fleshy bastards!" Baron roared as He parried another handymen that went on the attack, Already he received a alert from Joris of breaches in the droid lines along with the life signatures of the Korin's flat lining. At least the tank was still going and took out quite a few of the regular morphos, Seeing and hearing the march of a Shield wall, Baron got several ID's on his Hud of another allied race moving into to aid them, making a shield wall they began to dice and hack at the morphos and begin making a shield wall around there starlen at least there was that and they seem to be protecting her. @The_Raven @BuriasDempsey @Casavay "Welcome to the storm Lieutenants," Joris voice came over there coms as baron attempted to transmit a message to them. "We are in a bit of a tight spot down here. We could use a appendage or to taking out these Morphos and protecting our Starlen Jakora as she does her work." Baron said through his Coms to the other lieutenants as he went to try and take care of a new situation that arrived, the Corpses of Korins around Jakora. "Baron thats quite a fucked up idea you have." Joris said the AI a bit of surprise and disgust at its partners thought. "Desperate times and desperate measures we have to get rid of there bodies already and them endangering the ones alive and needed for a mission would be a bigger dishonor, May there spirits forgive this defilement of is own." Baron said before moving behind the shield wall and raising his axe up going through the chests he went by systematically impaling the former allied corpses and raising them up upon his axe till he had seven bodies on a stick. looking to the handy men line he hoped his idea would at least stall them sometime while they kept trying to chop down there horde. Raising his arms back he would ignite his axe and send the bodies in halves over the shield wall line and straight towards the handymen in a attempt to stall Jokar some more time. "Joris ahve the droids begin a defensive retreat to the shield wall line keep the fire up up on these morpohs, a attempt to tactical repostion may old in them holding this objectie. "KEEP THE FIRE UP!" Baron yelled over the radio as the fight continued to rage.
@Vulpas @BuriasDempsey Upon seeing the enemies, and swallowing a grunt of disapproval at their mishappen forms, Vaadh too sprung into action, raising her plasma pistol to fire an arc of searing green at the first Converted she had seen. One fluid motion of her body saw her sheathe the firearm in its hip holster and draw her rifle. "It is good to be here", she responded to Joris, her voice stern and empty of humour - almost reverent, yet chilled. A quick leap taking her near the Seeker, she raised her rifle and took aim at one of the approaching Handymen - considered briefly - and sent another, more focused arc through its body, then more rays further upwards to obliterate its cranium. The Adherent exhaled air, briefly lowering the gun to confirm it was truly down. She frowned at her percieved inefficiency. (OOC: Killed 1 Handyman and 1 Converted)
Cero was focused on eliminating the handymen, he hacked one handyman's skull in half, sawing the sword edge of his energy heated spear further in. He kicked the corpse off and pounced at another, delivering a savage thrust kick at a handyman's chest which sent it flying at a converted nearby. He incinerated them both with one energy blast, leaving both monstrosities smoldering piles of decayed flesh. OOC: Killed 2 handymen, 1 converted
The legendary interceptor swooped to the side and The Dragoon brought most of the energy shielding into the ship's rear as the foes were kept behind them, deafeningly loud music blaring into the helm as they did minute changes in their actions, constantly swooping this way and that, trying to calculate another moment for them to dive back yet again. The helm bobbed forward and back for a few seconds as the music came to a small, catchy point that kept their focus (and interest) in the moment, The Dragoon giving off a breathy laugh and with that, got to work; the agile craft suddenly pulled back and extended its airbrakes, turning swiftly to face the massive abomination, their neural interface instantly doing two things within the dive. Firstly, slits upon the sides of the chassis and along the wings opened up that caused the weapon to give off a shrieking noise; something that along with the roaring engines that set it at such massive speeds, gave it a sound that could only be comparable to an eternal howl, a crimson force soaring through the skies with a rage unparalleled. Next, the Dragoon would take aim and once more, open fire with the Nova Cannons, feeling the shockwaves through the aircraft as its mighty plasmic shells were fired ahead into the beast; whether they had a half second or three it mattered little, so long as they had a chance to fire in its direction. From there, they then made their way in hopes to get back to the craft; with one entire side of the ship's AA defenses destroyed, an idea of using the other side came to mind; they DID leave that untouched, after all. Clicking into the comms channel in an attempt to get a hold of anyone who could recieve it, they would speak, loud and with a confidence none could rival, and with a joy in the modulated voice that anyone could almost call 'manic'. "Any federation units within the Area, this is The Dragoon; I humbly request assistance dealing with the vermin within the skies. Attempting to recall self back to the landing site- if any fire can be given upon the beasts, it shall be appreciated." Whether anyone heard it.... Well, they could handle this on their own, hopefully.
