I've lost a lot of long, careful posts because at some point I accidentally hit a bad key combo and backwards navigated, losing all of my work. I've been on some forums that have a navigation warning that pops up if you've been working on a reply for a while, and it's never seemed like that much of an inconvenience for the amount of frustration it saves. Would it be hard to implement something like this here on the EC forums? This probably isn't the right topic (not really a bug) for this kind of comment but it seems like the only place people are actually discussing the site tech.

I've lost pages of stuff at this point. Usually I'm so frustrated I don't even bother trying to recreate it, I just let it drop. I thought about putting it there but that's all gameplay suggestions. This was the only spot on the forums that seemed to talk about the site itself.
That is something completely else and I would tell you to ask somewhere else.... Also following NEVER regenerates alerts what they write. The use is that you have a 'quick link' to their accounts and then can see what they do. This ain't social media....
