And whilst explosions lit up the night his squad sat resolutely holding the line against whatever grox-spawn sonaofaeldar came close enough to shoot at.
<Shas'La'Fal'Shia'Mal'caor - Squad La'rua'Fal'shia'Tak> Mal'caor continued to move and keep his foes at an optimal distance for the steady bursts of plasma he loosed; always readjusting and fidgeting, changing his stance by just a hair before snapping into stock stillness, bright bolts declaring he had fired. The Pathfinder's inner self rebelled at the sight of their fallen Manta and he opened up a comms to Shas'ui Se'hen, sentence faltering as each time he took a shot, his speaking and breathing ceased if for a moment. "The Manta pilot.. Shas'Ui, should we.. search for a survivor?"

If we do not press the attack now, the aliens may return, Shas'La!", Se'hen practically screamed at him - not just generally over the Vox but she took a step towards him as well, before moving back into cover. Of course it hurt Se'hen to leave behind a comrade, but someone had to form the first line of assault, and it had to be them. Or else it would've been Monty. "MOVE FORWARD!", she shrieked, having trouble finding her voice again. Leaping on the rock that had provided cover before, she pointed forwards, to the dark cloud, before lowering her pulse carbine at it and firing. "MOVE FORWARD, I SAID! OR YOU'LL ALL GET KROOT LATRINE DUTY!" Throwing a grenade forward, she flailed her arm one more time, and this time, her voice really turned into naught but a shriek. "MOVE!"
<Shas'Ui'Fal'shia'Monty - Squad La'rua'Fal'shia'Var> "OPEN FIRE, ALL TOGETHER! ALLOW LA'RUA'FAL'SHIA'TAK CLOSE COMBAT ENGAGEMENT!" Monty roared as he saw Se'hen making a move even he made himself during their last combat. The entire squad of his primed their rifles and delivered their entire payload as one into the masses, trying to force the enemy further into cover and allowing Se'hen more flexibility - especially her grenade upon explosion made picking out targets easier for him and his entire squad.
<Architect> Monty's plan worked, not so much because their strange foe was forced into cover, but because the volume of fire killed those that weren't in cover. The ranged weaponry of the Tau was able to keep their foe away from them, and the Daemons seemed to focus on the Gue'la units in the Tau Cadre. <Commander Halefire> The Commander drove his suits forward relentlessly, in the direction of the downed Manta. He had seen what these creatures had done to those they reached and he would be damned if he would allow that fate to befall the brave Air Caste pilots of that Manta to suffer that fate at the hands of their new enemies.
<Shas'Ui'Fal'shia'Monty - Squad La'rua'Fal'shia'Var> "GUE'LA UNITS! THEY FOCUS AT YOU! GET INTO COVER!" He barely noticed - but he did. And even though they were auxiliaries, they were not like the Imperium and saw every life that served the Tau'va equally. Something most humans would never understand. Though his prior command came down with a prize, everyone of the squad had to get down and reload. Supporting fire was not provided to Se'hen and it frustrated him inside. The empty energy cell was thrown out and a new one shoved it, closing down the rifle and turning it back on. "Do not let the Pathfinders die, it was our order before deployment and we shall not fail Commander Halefire!" He growled to his squad before getting up, putting his weapon on top of the barricade and started firing once more.
-Seargant viris- "YOU HEARD HIM LADS-GET YOUR DAEMON ASSES IN TO THAT COVER OVER THERE! FINTAN, GRAHAM COVERING FIRE-LAST ONE OUT GETS TO WAKE UP THE KROOT IN THE MORNING NOW GO!" He and his men ran behind a small wall firing into the enemy whilst running "SUPPORT THOSE BATTLESUITS COVERING FIRE GODDAMIT-IF THAT MANTA PILOT DIES, THOSE BASTARDS HAVE TRIUMPTED OVER THE GREATER GOOD-AND THAT IS NOT HAPPENING WHILST WE LIVE TO STOP IT!" OOC: SHOUTY SEARGANT IS SHOUTY!
Shas'La'Fal'shia'Vash'ka 'Well this in turning from bad to what in Tau'va is that!?' Vash thinks, letting lose a steady stream of controlled two shot bursts. It use up powercells slower, but were less likely to hit something... If you weren't Vash. Vash'ka prided himself on always hitting his target. Smart enough to never claim to kill everything he hit, but at least hit some part of it. If the first burst missed, that allowed him to measure and hit the second time. The fanged, screaming, flying, fire breathing contacts defied reason. Luckily Vash wasn't there to understand his enemy, just kill it before it killed him. The horrors, continued to focus on the Gue'vesa. That was just fine with Vash, as it meant there would be fewer charging in his direction. "Commander! The creatures are pushing the right, I believe to out flank our position. What are your orders?"
<Shas'Ui'Fal'Shia'Se'hen - Squad La'rua'Fal'shia'Tak> Seeing the plasma bolts race by her, Se'hen only yelled "FORWARD! CLOSER!" before leaping off the rock and running towards a row of jagged metallic spines erupting from the ground. She collapsed into a slide before reaching it, all the while ceaselessly firing at the evil aliens. 'I hope Monty's well', she thought before readying a grenade and throwing it blindly over the cover, ejecting the burnt out power cell of her carbine and inserting a new one, allowing herself to breathe.
