The Guards seemed first being unaware of it, but then some of them started to point at the fog. "Seems to work." Gylthran whispered into the vox, taking an eye on each patrol. "Aye, all are staring on it, move move move." He ordered them, Guards now running up to the side where the fog came from. It was also a good point to see how many they were. "Fifty... Fifty Five... Sixty.... Sixty Five...." He counted out loud to let Tyranous next to him know how many he sees. "Hundred.... Damnit they are many... Hundred Twenty..." Though the onslaught of the phenomenon started to slow down, the final count was One Hundred and Thirty, many of them though were reserve guards from inside or perhaps guarding other sectors within. The bridge remained standing up, now lowering.
"Right, time to get moving then." Scytalles made his approach as close as he dared to the drawbridge and wall, scout armor was stealthier than power armour but that wasn't saying much so he still kept a fair distance from said places.
"How many on the wall above us? I can get up there with my hook and sneak into the gate house and secure the control mechanism for the bridge. If we need it'll let us lock out all the men leaving right now, at least delay them getting back in. " Meron spoke quietly into his vox bead, shotgun braced and ready to fire if they were discovered and needed to fight.
"None at the moment, but you must hurry, they look like losing interest in the fog as it starts to fade from the wind." Gylthran reported swift.
"None" was all the cue he needed to get moving. Scuttling up against the wall he chucked his hook up top, pulled it taught then looked to the Blood Angel. "It should hold your weight as well, give it a go once I'm up." Starting the careful process of scaling the wall Meron peered over the edge to see if there was anyone hiding beyond the sight of his team before climbing over and onto his feet, immediately taking to a knee to lower his profile while visually scanning the area before the others could climb up.
Seeing in the distance the team infiltrate the stronghold, it was just like a training exercise executed with percussion, they moved with the shadows. "What's the final count?" Tyranous whispered, moving off to see if there was another vantage point on the stronghold, his bolter locked and loaded... "What do you see inside?" He voxed to the infiltrating teams
Nothing could be seen, the guards were all at the far other side and no torches were lit near them, they were one with the darkness.... Until the guards would reach them that would be, they had to move quick! And the Astartes knew so.
Looking over the wall he beckoned the others up with a swish of his fist before trying to discern which path would provide them the most cover before their ultimate split up.
One nod was all it took to show his agreement, Scytella shimied up the rope as fast as he could to join the other scout at the top, Furion would surely follow soon after.
Gylthran looked at the group of cultists that started to break off. "Move, now. They are returning to their posts!" The Scout urged, his finger on the trigger as he looked how the patrols formed in groups of five again, one group moving over the right, the other over the left. The team on the wall would have to move quick inside or leap down and move across the inside of the fortress which looked somewhat like a little village.
