Really, if you're experienced with it, t's not about vengeance. It's about strategy and coordination.
Even a little sheet of info somewhere in the HUD, like a scanner displaying name and guild of the target we aim in the right corner, could be cool.
This is one of the dumbest things i have heard during the development of this game. How they hell are we supposed to create a community Vs community feel in this game if we are supposed to fight nameless generic marines vs nameless generic spiky marines??? This is so against the very idea of PvP that i cannot comprehend who the hell and why did come up with such unreasonable idea. If this proves to be the case how are we supposed to cherish the fact that we killed a strong enemy or a random noob? What will be the diference of beating down to dust Valrak, ShoulderMount and others if they will appear on our screen as nameless and as unrecognizable as RandomNewb420. pardon me inability to forge any better points but this left me nearly speechless... btw great step towards making this game more digestible for casuals and unbearable for organized community gamers. Yeah good idea focus on those that will buy the cheapest version of game and leave it as soon as new CoD is lunched. Who cares about gaming community and their devotion to the game, right? Why would we allow them to recognize each other in the game.... FFS
u can see in the death log that u killed shoulder mount vlarak and others ....... anyway ur To kill list same as mine
I've played PS2 for years and I feel the way they did the "spotting" system and name reveal was spot on. It was just nice to know that one of our rival outfits or someone we knew was indeed inside the tower we were trying to take, etc. It made the game more intense. Spotting goes away after a short duration so you regain anonymity again and can disappear. I like the idea of knowing who i'm trading shots with not for the sake of revenge, but for the intensity of the current fight, and possibly a little rivalry building I feel the current community is awesome (at least 95% of it.), and I doubt people would take it to a "headhunting" extreme. I guess it could happen with big name streamers or well know community members etc., I've just never seen it. Never was I in an outfit that abandoned the objective to go kill someone though, i think that's a bit overboard and an extreme way of making your point. There are good and bad to both sides though: The Bad Immersion - Actual living things do not have nameplates above their heads "Headhunting" - as stated before targeting and griefing someone is lame and should be discouraged. This includes revenge kills. Large name/Clan name - your name or clan tag being large and sticking out from behind cover letting everyone know where you are One of the problems (Overwatch had, not sure if it still does.) http://imgur.com/a/W5ORd The Good Cheating - This is a big one. That guy glitching through the floor there, killing everyone, easily reported. If he kills you you can see his name then i guess but what if the last bullet that brought you down wasn't his? What if he's not shooting but just spotting the room for his squad letting them know there's a heavy bolter in the corner, etc? Rivalry - This is self explanatory I assume Pride - Many guilds want their name out there. They want you to know it was them that stopped you from taking that point, fort, candy from said child. People are saying that accessorizing is good enough for you to be able to tell who people are once it's implemented. That may in fact end up being the case. As of right now with all the screen effects it's hard to recognize anything other than the class/ base color of what i'm shooting at through my seizure, Let alone tell which shoulderpad, particular purity seal, type of eight pointed star they are wearing. Hopefully once optimizations are better and there are a large multitude of accessories, this will be possible. There are lots of reasons for both sides of the argument and these are just a few. Personally I'm not 100% either way on the subject. While i don't want to be "just another battle-brother" on the field, I also don't want to be constantly griefed by "that one guy". I love this game and will continue to support it regardless (no not irregardless) of the outcome. I'm sure whatever they determine to do we will just have to accept it. (see Traitor Marine class name debacle )
I do not care of K/D at all Heelidar. I have other games for competitive things. It's not the point at all again
