90% of the time, my elite dies to retard teammates who run me over with vehicles, shoot me in the back after the enemy is already dead or stick grenades to my ass after the enemy is dead. The other 10% of the time, I die because I over committed and ran into a room of 10 enemies like a tard
Great points. And yes, please remove the "shoot here' bullshit health bars above enemy Veterans! It's cheese ball "kiddy mode" bullshit from BF4, BF1, and other "soft core" match modes. We dont need health bars over enemy heads. We a BRAIN and eyes in our head! We can tell an Ork from an Eldar, CSM from LSM. Please stop the hand holding, we don't need to be spoon fed kills.
Agreed about the marked for death although the 2-3min can become overpowered-ish for experienced players that can make a veteran class have near maximum performance, as said on this thread before there is people that with a single life can survive an entire match, 2-3min timer means those guys dont need to be so careful, meaning a more violent gameplay (aka steamroll) with no big consequences as in 3 minutes you can do it again Not saying vets would just "yolo" and suicide but as a matter of fact, knowing you can come back you can take certain risks knowing you cant come back you would not take Whenever i see a marked for death guy and im using my dead shiny kannon i just shoot towards it, 300xp flies straight back at me Profit
Leave it to the wolf to talk some sense I always say. Dam right buddy, too much hand holding and baby lala casual stuff going on and I cant stand that shit. But you cant talk about it to0 much or people will start throwing the words "elitist" at us and "anti-casual". Filthy casuals.
I too, am in the camp to remove the overhead "Shoot Me" sign. For some classes, the indicator isn't as bad as others. Classes with the ability to disengage from combat have an easier time to avoid getting dropped, and make them even more dangerous as a result. Others, however, get an increased level of difficulty with little to no return on the extra points to begin with. Using a Heavy weapon, having an innate speed reduction, and being targeted simply for firing is bad enough. When you throw in a neon sign overhead (which is ugly as !@#$, btw), your life expectancy declines rapidly. Which makes even fielding a Heavy veteran about as fun as a root canal.
Hmm that would be interesting. Vets would have a certain vicinity buff active but the buffs would be different depending on your elite. Chaos for an example - Traitor Vet - Reload/Cooldown (weapon cooldown) Traitor Assault - Melee damage buff and possibly even a toughness buff Sorc Vet - Passive healing, could also do something different depending the god you have on your loadout Raptor Vet - Fuel Cooldown for other raptors (some may not like it but it would help out in making squads once we have voice chat in live for helping sort squads out) Havoc Vet - adds a small amount of suppression to basic unit weapons or gives toughness to other units Honestly though I'm in class so I can't really go in depth but it would be quite cool if depending on the subfaction could change the passive they give out and for chaos what god you have in the loadout could also change it. As for the topic I wouldn't mind if they removed it but if you're spotted with the spot key it shows up
Im just thinking that as the game goes on your going to have more end-game builds, loadouts, and such. Vets are the first step in making a End-Game experience for players. Otherwise its a static player base all round, with game grinding for gear the only rewards. and Half empty loadouts to get 1 good gun. There needs to be a reason to advance is all im putting in.
keeping your elite alive is a challenge! being hunted is also a challenge! not having to find the best players to fight in an enemy team, instead they go looking for you is a blessing. prey comes to you! ok!
We gettin' an AP rework anytoim soon? 'Cause I honestly wanna spend dat 520 AP I used ta' get a Painboy and Shoota nob ta' get all da uvva' stuff in da tree Dat be partly da reason I don't botha' wif elites/vetarans. I end up pretty much playin' jus' bein' loik me uvva' basic loadouts wut don't giv da enemy extra XP. Moight az well jus' play dem basic loadouts ratha' den giv da enemy free XP wif me one and only vetaran loif w'ere I'll play like a coward and help nobody. I be moar useful as a basic loadout den wif a vetaran loadout. Gettin' a vetaran ain't much o' a grand end-game reward frum me parspective. Gettin' da 'Eavy Arma' wuz moar rewardin' honestly, I actually use it
Said it before and I'll say it again. Wait for the elites/terminators to come out before tweaking the Veteran count. Down the road when it becomes less special I can absolutely see it being something along the lines of having multiple kits that you can bring into a match (IE Two or three slots to make either unique or duplicate loadouts). Until that point it could prove more problematic since the more experienced players, like myself who has never died as a Vet and get 500+ kills per minute as a Vet, steamroll through players as is. Not that it's a related game, but League of Legends once had a heavy starvation meta going for it. The game was all about securing an early lead and then starving the opponent out over the next 25+ minutes with a lead they can't swing because you control the whole map. So imagine the scenario where the entire enemy team has veterans out on the field and your team has run out, or doesn't have any to begin with. You manage to finally bring one down and it's right back on the field or soon to be on the field again. tl;dr Right now Veterans ARE the super weapon of the game, so let's wait for the other super weapons first
