Eldar Weaponry?

So during the Alpha I'll be a Blood Angel. But I've always had a soft spot for Tau and now recently the Eldar after reading the Path of the Eldar series. It did wonders to make them seem badass to me. I might switch faction once I get my hands on them but by the Emperor I loved how the bolters felt in Space Marine. From what I've seen in the footage from the Into the Warp stuff though, they just don't seem to have that "oomph". So do Eldar have any weaponry like the bolter that just gives that feel of power leaving your hand to see it smite the enemy? That and I guess I want to know about the awesome weaponry they have in general. I hear things about spears that leave me intrigued.

Confirmed weapons you'll see on EC, shuriken weaponry, direswords, fusion guns, chain swords, power swords (no link needed here :p), lasblaster (eldar version of the imperial lasgun), hawk grenade launcher, reaper launcher, witchblades and singing spears (eldar force weapons).

I think that covers the basics, but there is plenty more they can add, full list of eldar weapons here.

I don't think Eldar weapons should really have much oomph beside reaper launchers and the like. Eldar weapons are about smoothness. Like their chainswords. Imperial chainswords are just loud as hell but Eldar chainswords can be pretty quiet.

I want to feel like the Swordwind, not the hammer of the Imperium.

How about the Fire Dragon weapons? To be honest I used the stalker bolter mostly so I didn't always have that nice dual explosion effect. And other than them being short range I see myself using a Scorpion. Or a Warlock.

Well, Imperial meltaguns are described as crude version of Eldar fusion weapons so it probably doesn't have a huge kick to it. Fire Dragons just use fancier meltaguns

It's not even the kick so much that I enjoyed. Just the raw feeling of power it could provide. As long as I find something with that I'll be satisfied.

Well, you need to break things down. Shuriken weaponry fire monomolecular discs at the enemy using magnetic force. So there wouldn't even be impact tremors in the target, let alone recoil. The Reaper launcher is a multiple missile pod based launcher, which hooks into leg integrated stabilizers on the warriors armour. I could see this being where you'd feel powerful with an Eldar weapon, but your character still shouldn't be showing any real recoil. All melta tech in 40K is described as focused microwaves, which heat the air by vibrating air particles with radiation (Over-simplification, but I don't want to explain the whole process). But firing a weapon like that would only really show a small amount of vibration and then venting after each shot (from the moisture buildup). Melee weapons would be where the real feeling of power would come from, but they'd still be far more elegant than the Imperial counterparts. The Scorpion claw comes to mind if you want to feel powerful. Otherwise I think you should be feeling speed. What I'd like to see is instead of feeling powerful through force, an Eldar player should feel powerful through a sense of fluidity. Constant movement between running, jumping, vaulting, shooting and melee, while not breaking step would be a huge plus for me.

    D cannon.

I think with speed and a fusion pistol I might feel pretty powerful. That and the melee weapons. Here's hoping I get mandiblasters.
