Razauil heard the conversation and approached the door on the right. "Alright then, lets get this show on the road." The Reaper looked for the button to open it, and once he found it, he pressed it and waited for the ancient mechanism to kick in...
The door opened without flaw. Though within the hallway was dark, the only light came from that of the sparks from above. The hallway proceeded for a great distance to his left with several side passages. Directly across the hallways Razauil spotted what seemed to be claw marks in the wall, with spots on the wall that was likely dried blood.
"Ready your weapons," the Reaper commed his team, at the same time checking if the comm worked at all. "A long hallway, with couple of side passages, be ready for an ambush." "Zu'ark, shall we begin?" Razauil asked for confirmation before he head out into the unknown.
Zu'ark watched the rear, his eyes wide open and ready for any sneak up on the group, though he was pretty sure that nothing would jump at them until they were inside.... When the chance of escaping would be far lower.
When he was satisfied his team was in position, Razauil took a step forward into the dark hallway. He kept his weapon raised and instincts sharpened, looking for any signs of their attacker. Thousands of years spent in the Warp honed his skills and perfected them for this type of environment. If the creatures which inhabited this place took him for an easy prey, he will show them the error in their judgement.
Kai moved forward along the passage, melee weapons close at hand. The chameleon cloak blended easily with the simple passageways, padded footsteps barely stirred the dust, and piercings green eyes scanned as easily through the darkness ahead as through full daylight. Every sense stayed as sharp as a mono-filament razor. The pathfinder spoke softly to the Reaper while watching the surroundings. "If I were to move a little bit further ahead, would you be able to watch my back for anything that tries to let the vanguard pass before attacking?"
"Of course," the Reaper responded while aiming his weapon further down the hallway. "Watch the ceiling and be wary of the side passages. But I guess you already know that," he smiled and nodded her forward.
Kai grins beneath the enclosed helmet and drifts forward, almost immediately lost in the scenery. It is tempting to move further ahead, to explore, but the Reaper is kept in sight.. if only just. Every move is careful and thought out, every passage vetted, every new sound leads to stillness and examination. There should be fear perhaps, but in its place there is a hint of eagerness for the thrill of the hunt. At even intervals and at confusing passageways the pathfinder pauses long enough to leave small marks that may point the way back home if it should become needed.
