So I've recently started playing this and of course we can only use SM. Now from what I've seen and read so far they are trying to incorporate the TT abilities/stats of units into the game, meaning SM are probably going to be tougher than other races. My worry is that playing Eldar we might be super easy to kill. I'm already being obliterated as a SM now, I shudder to think of what would happen to a Dire Avenger heh. Has there been any word on whether or not the Eldar will actually be squishier than SM or no? Thoughts and concerns?
Thoughts: Eldar will more accurate and have a smaller hitbox in range. Faster in both foot speed and attack in melee with a more powerful array of weapons at their disposal. You can't kill what you can't catch. Concerns: None.
Yes they will be squisher. Since you are an Eldar, aka, smart and better than the rest of the mon-keigh ( ). People are failing to realize they will balanced TTK when the loadout system is in place. We will be softer, but also much much faster, agile, and smaller hit box with better weapons. * I wouldnt worry about it. Play every class in every game the same, Pretend you die in 1 shot no matter the class spec, and always assume your opponents is better than you ** As a Eldar fan boy, TTK is no a worry at all. I am more worried about getting my sexy clothes dirty lol Edit: I got beat to the punch !!!
if eldar are fast and deadly they will be extremely dangerous, character feel already fragile so it's not a big malus be more fragile.
This still makes me worry about healer balance. As an Apoth/Sorc a strong gust of wind is enough to put you down. Hard hitting fast eldar might make healers to difficult to play in current state.
Well, that's the point of healers. Your team should protect you and in turn you heal them. It might create a problem, but only if Eldar have absurd damage. We'll see it once they're in the game.
Overall I think it will be fine, but we gotta wait to see how it actually plays to make a call on it. It is expected that they will be a bit more squishy, but where it matters is if the benefits balance things out.
I really don't mind being easier to kill so long as my ability to kill quicker is much higher. I rather prefer being an agile glass cannon to being well rounded or slow but heavily armored. I like the irony of being fragile but hitting like a sledge hammer, this is what draws me to the Eldar (in addition to their equipment aesthetic and background story.)
