Hello crusaders, i have been talking with friends and we all agree that the eldar sprint animation is very ugly. The character only move its legs and the torso barely has no movement . What do you think about it?
I agree. I think it should lean forward a bit and and have the shoulders move side to side, a bit like the marine animation.
They use a "high port" position, it's the best one for fast movement, as the weapon doesn't hit the legs and it's very similar to running without things in the hands. Also, the professional runners doesn't lean forward when sprinting (just the at the start), so I think the eldar running position it's perfect for them. The animation could be improved, of course, it's a bit "stiff" and lacks energy, but the only eldar I can see running different are the scorpions, as they may try to have a low profile.
My friend, who's been checking in on EC through me, just saw the Eldar yesterday when he asked to see the races. He burst out laughing at the eldar sprint animation and kept talking about it as i showed him all the eldar and ork loadouts. It was also the first thing that made me cringe when i first tried them. Not a good sign really.
Yeah the spiny animation is REALLY BAD. It needs to get real anime. Maybe not naruto airplane mode sprint, though, but they definitely need to be leaning into it a lot more. Elder are like anime space cat people. Why are they running around like flagpoles?
I find it incredibly ugly, but NeonWeaver makes a fair point, that IS how the fastest people in the world run. Albeit with more arms than the Eldar use. Edit: I meant as in they use their arms more, but on re-reading it I had visions of Prince Goro from Mortal Kombat winning gold at the Olympics. It was awesome.
Also, other factions complains a lot about the eldar hitbox, if they decrease it for a more "ninja-like" animation, would be much worse.
Sprinting is fine, but Sprint attack is still bugged (you enter warp and exit it fast like Warp Spider) [basicly you teleport around when you go for sprint attack]
