Also, if Lugganath were allowed to fight alongside the other craftworlds it would be far more easier to justify the insertion of a corsair class (just making an uninterested suggestion :D ).

No, corsairs are Eldar, rangers are exclusively craftworld Eldar and they still have ties with his craftworld, corsairs have ties with their corsair Prince and with money.

Sorry if I wasn't very clear about this: what I meant is that a ranger has always the choice to help a craftworld or not (and that he will often choose to do so); just as a corsair captain with his whole crew - because he is in command after all - or a single crewman, even if for the latter it would probably mean to leave his companions and never return (so theoretically he has that same choice).

In more simple words: they are all outcast, free to do whatever they want - a ranger is free to become a corsair, a corsair is free to leave his crew and become something else, etc. It is well depicted in the Path of the Outcast novel, where Aradryan become a ranger, then a corsair to ultimately return to his home craftworld. In this book we can also read that not all of his ranger mates are craftworlder (one of them is even an harlequin solitaire).

  4. Why be a Corsair when you could take things to it's logical conclusion and come to Commorragh?

(Totally not more DE advertising from me at all)

Because in a corsair crew there are former craftworlders or/and former citizen of the Dark City, both released from a strict lifestyle or a tyrannical master (an archon or Vect himself).

They are outcasts and thus truly free to live the way they want without any restrictions

Some corsair fleet do aid the Craftworlds, like in the case of the "Autarch" Yriel (*cough* princess *cough*).
I can't see them as much of a class more than a subclass, since they still have much of the same units and equipment.
Best option could be a differing class from a dire avenger that would have plenty of grenades and a jump pack, but less armour.

Well, more like a swooping hawk then :p

Well, more like a mix of a guardian and swooping hawk.
But yeah, true. They are still not like assault marines even if they got jump packs.

I don't know too much about what kind of jump packs they were, I don't own the Imperial Armour (11 I think?) book.

I just take a look at it and... really, they have some interesting stuff (they can even use gyrinx as combat pets!)

    Anyway, here it his:

  10. no. rangers do not consider themselves on a path. the craftworlders just have OCD and feel the need to categorize EVERYTHING into a path.
    you have good points.

when i said is yriel the only time that has happened, i meant is that the only time a corsair has come to the aid of a craftworld when it was in need, even if their would be no benefit to themselves(other than the craftworlds gratitude), and would cost them dearly.
