<GM> Mission #3 got elected as per democracy. Please continue to elect a Squad Leader. My recommendation (which I do because it's our first campaign) is Colapse and his character Rollo, because he has the tactical doctrine 'defense' and he might be key in the defense operation because the base has relatively many hallways as you can imagine and if he equips his heavy weapons he can lead and clear out very quick and efficiently. You of course may choose different if you like.
Khereph spoke up, and addressed his brothers with "If we have decided on our mission, we need to decide on our leader. I volunteer to lead." He would let the others speak up if they disagreed with him leading them, but if there was no dissent to him leading then he knew what role he would fill. His mind now focused on the Oath of Knowledge, that he would speak if he was elected leader and it's wording of:Knowledge is the key to victory. Remember the teachings of the past, but be open to new teachings in front of us. Know yourself and know your foe and thou shall win every battle. Let the enemy fight to your conditions but never fight to his. Deceive your opponent, let him not read your tactics and you shall prove victorious.
"I will follow you brother" as he spoke the assault marine looked at his back "i will leave my jump pack here as we wont have the space in tight corydoors for it"
"And you will have my heavy flamer!" Rollo declared as he grinned wildly, ready to turn some Tyranids into crisps.
<GM> Oath is sworn and despite lacking answer of Vulpas and Metaldog, we will carry on to the next phase of preparation: Choosing the Wargear. Oh and feel free to write as <Character> and <Playername> because that is actually also how PnP works. So you can make OOC decision as if you would plan on Tabletop or so together. For example this could help you discuss before your character makes a choice of what he grabs that you could plan out what equipment is required. <Narrative> The group have sworn their oath in the name of knowledge and logic, just like the Emperor always wanted his Imperium to be based on rationality rather than blind fury and zeal. So they moved to the armory to find it well stocked with all basic equipment an Astartes in the Deathwatch could imagine. Due to all being just initiated and only little to no fame among their elite-brethren, so was their weapon all of normal quality. Signature wargear had been put aside in glass-tubes, belonging to some members, such as Rollos Heavy Flamer. It was now up to them to decide with what they would march into war and ensure the safety of the Magos, his data and experiments. <GM> You guys have 55 Requisition available to your use for Weapons, Wargear, Armor and ammunition. Please see the Core Rulebook starting on page 145/146 with ranged weapons (in pdf viewer) for details. Remember that you can pool your leftover requisition together to purchase more expensive wargear for one. For example if Metaldog and Colapse have each 10 Requisition leftover, they can put it together as 20 Requisition for 1 item for anyone of the squad. Anything with no required renown status is available to you, from Astartes Flamers, over Metal Storm Bullets to Demolition Charges and Back Banners.
<Caius Tiburon> "And my cybernetics!" The Techmarine declared, following the pattern set by Rollo. <MetalDog> Thinking about taking a Flamer (10), Silencer (3), Kraken Rounds (15), Bulkhead Shears (17), Melee Mono-attachment (7). I would ordinarily take a combi-tool, but since we are already in control of the defensive facility I decided not to take it this time.
Ok lemme try this, although it feels kinda awkward to write about myself from a 3rd person view. <Colapse> I'll take my heavy flamer. After it, Chainsword (15), 1 incendiary grenade (15), 2 repair cements (2), 3 frag grenades (3), 2 cluster mine pack (10) and a vox caster (10)
<Zacharius> equipment astartes hand flamer (10) 5 fuel tanks (it dose not say how much these cost) chainsword (starting gear) bolt pistol (starting gear) 10 bolt clips 3 incindery grenades (45)
<GM> I checked the rulebook. Unlimited ammo of standard and signature weapons, except in special situations where I may say "you are out of ammo." I.E. you are fighting for hours against an endless horde. Furthermore I will let you know beforehand on missions in future if I use the 'rule of three' also for standard & signature gear. Which is basically: You get 3 full clips of standard ammunition. Of course this does not apply to ammo backpack supply, which by the way can also be used for regular weapons. So yes you can put your ammo backpack supply into your storm bolter, stalker bolter, regular flamer, etc. It just weights a lot and costs extra Req. So in Watchmans case, he has no unlimited ammo for hand flamer but rather 3 canisters (because it's not his standard equipment).
