Shin Zhu was oblivious to the Inquisitor's words, so deep in his memory now as he studied and restudied the fights from the recent mission on his techniques, the enemies' techniques and tactics and especially the final battle with Ahriman. He then contrasts these engagements to the others that he had personally experienced and also other great battles he had witness between the great warriors of his chapters and other "worthy foes," to improve upon his own fighting style, as dictated by the Way of the Blade and the Way of the Warrior.
The Inquisitor waited to hear words of the others, though seeing that at least the Ronin fell in deep motivation, having expected that due to his chapter history. OOC: Someone may form words and put them into the mouths of Axion, I will take care of Sirius ^^
Axion spoke in hushed tones "I have thinking the same way as you for a long time Inquisitor. Why fight all of the xenos when we can talk to them and fight the greater threat. I am with you." .... Chaplain spoke last. His tone was serious, and he was looking the Inquisitor straight in the eyes during whole time. "Krauz, a broad mind lacks focus. We have shared blood together, and now I consider you my brother eternal. Therefore I'll be blunt. I do not agree with you completely." "While I agree on the part where we should try to work together to banish the greater foe, you should never forget that not all Eldar are that good as you make them" he glanced at Noctis "Sorry brother, but that is the truth, for I have seen what are they capable of. I know that they would not hesitate to destroy an entire Imperial world just to save couple of their kin. So I would never trust them fully". "Yes, we can work sometimes, and I am open as possible, but know this - when the push comes to shove, I will always chose us above them" Stevanus said. "Ultimately, this galaxy is only wide for one race, and as long as I breathe, I will fight for that one race being Human."
Noctis was silent for a moment. "Would you not... do the same to them, Chaplain?" His words intended no disrespect or offense.
"Thing is, brother, that they would do that because of their visions" Chaplain tried to explain. "For instance, if their farseers had a vision that a child would be born that would somehow interfere with their plans, Eldars would not hesitate to prevent that for happening. Even if they saw the named child being born in 200,300 years from now on, they would still destroy an entire world because of it." "And that's why I say, despite everything, they would still chose their own over us, because they do not think that we are equal. So therefore, I will do the same thing as them - chose my own."
The Inquisitor took the words in and replied to Stevanus before Sirius could speak up. "I am aware of it, as I said it depends on the Eldar and therefor on their craftworld. See it like the members we have here. The Salamander, like Tsu'had, their chapter fights for the honor and protection of every human, if human or not. The Sons of Guilliman, like Sirius, do not care as much about 'regular' humans, but have made it their goal to exterminate every threat of the Imperium, especially the Emperor's Children. The Watchmen, like Tempestus, made it their goal to fight the Daemons and keep their secrets away from others as they are too dangerous for most to know." Krauz then looked back to Stevanus. "So do not see me as the fool I sound like, I am well aware that not all Eldar can be trusted, but there are some bonds from the Imperium among different chapters with those of Biel-Tan and Ulthwe, so do not fear about that matter, Chaplain. And never would I either sacrifice an Imperial World over the Eldar, except it would decide the fate of the galaxy or the Imperium. Like the Codex Astartes has to be utilized in many different ways in many different situations, so will I act as the situation desires." "But Iam glad to count you on my side, Stevanus." Krauz finally finished and left the word to the Son of Guilliman Apothecary. "I have sworn an oath, Inquisitor, and I tend to keep them. Though I do not agree, similar as our chaplain I share his views that they cannot be freely discussed. I shall serve under you and your orders, as a Militant of the Ordo Xenos."
Chaplain smiled and nodded, leaning his head against his seat, pain and exhaustion slowly starting to wear on him. So he relaxed his body, and entered a meditation until they reached their ship.... Nathaniel, who was silent so far, spoke at last "I am with Chaplain on this one. We can work with them, but we should not trust them completely"
"I agree with the Chaplain, the eldar make fine allies for now, but the day will come when they will need to be removed like every other xenos."
