Hey as I'm sure a few of you gits have noticed our dbash no longer has the impact it once did. To be precise it's no longer reliable(as if it was before) but now it outright fails as light attacks hit you some of the time. Just bringing awareness to this so it can be promptly fixed
May be its the ping/delay or something. If your getting over 100ms+ good luck getting a dbash, might aswell as run the other direction. I'm playing from asia getting 300ms ping, I don't even attempt to melee.
If you play as ork, don't even bother with the D-bash(broken and slow forever), it only works on the spice cans of holy beens and saucy pepperoni(LSM and CSM).
Worst part is the d bash recovery for the user takes so long still that stunning someone doesn't allow you to take advantage of your stun.
Dbash for all races have reduced iframes from previous patches. So depending on lag and timing the enemy can get a quick light attack before your dbash. The dbash will continue and should stun said opponent (unless that light attack that snuck in killed you). If the enemy spammed the hell outta dodge the benefit of the doubt(lag and netcode priorities), then it appears like the other player cheated and literally rolled out a stunned status. Pretty much sums up everyone's frustration as the game is less about action/reaction and more 1, 2, 3 go with whoever is faster ping/character animation wins. This issue is across the board for all races, just some notice more than others due to certain attributes. Orks have it worse of course cause the dbash is slow as hell and very predictable compared to the other races. So already they are at a disadvantage because of character animations. Latency and netcoding is just icing on the cake to ruin the melee meta. Whenever I have anything above 90 ping I pretty much lose every action/reaction bout and must rely on hitting unaware opponents, dueling is not an option.
Ork dbash has always been had a bugged animation, as has already been mentioned. Since the last Patch our Dbash can be beaten by any attack. This could be due to lag, the servers have been really slow since the patch because of the Amazon Crash, but I have noticed that I can get bashed but I can rarely successfully bash. Also the Power claw doesn't seem to clang any more, every faster attack will cancel yours, and if you clang against a fist it goes through your claw like your not even there and you die.
I just don't melee Eldar for the most part if i can help it. cartwheel behind you then melee you once or twice (depending on loadout/ if it's a Banshee/Scorption) And it's game over man. Your job as a sluuga for the most part is to keep people busy so someone else on your team can shoot them.
Not sure if this is something specific to Orks but this is absolutely NOT the case with either space marine faction. In a recent patch they increased the length of the Dbash stun so that a tactical (or equivalent) could finally get 1 melee strike in with their knife. The also unfortunately had the side effect of allowing them to shoot their primary weapon after a Dbash, doing far more damage than should really be allowed in melee range. There was a time where you could not even get 1 knife strike in, but that has since been fixed.
Everyone's stun got increased so that they can choose to inflict 2 light melee attacks (with knives/swords at least) or 1 heavy attack.
