Painboyz I'z bin reedin' sum stuff. Orkz only go ta painboyz less dey 'av no chois. So iz da painboyz gunna jus' run up to 'n Ork and pok'em wiff dere stabby bits? Li'l 'ard ta 'av surg'ry ina fight. In all seriousness, how will painboy healing work? Will be much like the Space Marine Apothecary where they just poke you and be done, or will it have that "orky" affect that everyone seems to want (typical healing but with a side affect or unpredictable result) such as a small buff/debuff? This is what I hope for... a close proximity heal with a short term buff or debuff, which is randomized.
Mostly like Apothecary, except with Fightin' Juice. What I would do if I was put in charge: -Heal over time effect: More potent in HPS (health per second) than Sorc and Apo HOT, but not an instantaneous heal on use like Apo. -Feel No Pain effect: Buffs the player so that they cannot fall below 1 HP for the duration. Once it wears off, all of the damage that was blocked is applied. Duration does not stack if the affected player gets buffed again. -Frenzy effect: Buffs the player, increasing their melee attack speed and the clang force of their weapon. Painboys can mix up to two effects for their Fightin' Juice, or double-down on one effect. While they are still adept at rescuing downed players (if they put the Heal effect in their juice), their focus in relation to the other support classes is that they are a preemptive buffer that encourages the boyz to get stuck in.
Perhaps one of the effects of Fightin' Juice is that when health drains and falls, instead of going into a downed state, they go into a frenzy. The "bleeding out effect" won't be applied and the only way to kill them is by continuously shooting. The only time the bleeding out effect is reapplied is after the fightin' juice wears off. The Ork then goes into the traditional "downed" state until rescued or given more fightin' juice.
this been talked bout before by the devs and i believe their goal was with ork support to be more about buffing and supportin allies similar to apoth. with fightin juice and things like that. again not much official dev responses since orks are still a while off and so are their supports
I hope they get a close range strong heal + buff And some supersoaker like fighting juice stream It's like the close rangeheal+ buff but with like 1/4 power But you can hit more orks with it and the longer you hit the same ork the longer the buff and the stronger the heal+buff
I myself imagine the Painboyz having both a standard heal AND a frenzy/resilience buff or something similar. Since they're attempting to vary the types of healing faction's are able to put out, with space marines being an instant heal and DoT, chaos sorcerors having the crossable warp beams of healing, eldar most likely going to have an AoE healing aura of some sort.. I think a rather Orky theme of gameplay would be an animation where the Ork painboy starts chopping at an ally in melee range, similar to an apothecary's heal. But where an apothecary would take one stick of 'is needle, a Painboy would need about 6 chops or so to fully revitalize an injured boy. While the frenzy buff itself could be as simple as tossing a flask of juice at a Boyz head, I imagine it could also be implemented via the healing system I just stated. Only when a Boy reaches full health from being healed back up by a Painboy, he goes into said frenzy! Granted this system would need an internal cooldown per boy to prevent the mass shooting of your allies and subsequent healing by Painboyz just for the buff before battle. Which is rather Orky when you think about it.. Maybe they shouldn't add a cooldown!
