I have been working on my character latly, Varagash The Corrutor, and i want to ask you guys a quick question to make sure I'm fluffy. My character so far is an iron warrior, but i was wondering if it would be ok to have him join the black legion. I was thinking he would feel betrayed by his primarch for leaving his legion in such a devastating state so he joins abandon to create a new generation of iron warriors in the legion and to forget about their past. so what do you guys think?

He would be neither the first nor last marine to start wearing the black, its quite plausible.

Black legion would certainly take him... but I cant imagine it going over too well with his fellow Iron Warriors

Leaving your home legion is never something to do lightly. Its like a Necrontyr leaving his Dynasty, its possible, and can have benefits, but it will never be his home again and he may face retribution from his former brothers. The Black Legion would certainly take him though. They are a group that recruits from all legions and warbands, and will take anyone willing to fight the long war.

It's definitely a good starting point, and given that Abaddon's force would definitely require line breakers and siege specialists against major Imperial installations I think he'd be quickly welcomed. It also helped that the idea of creating a new generation of warriors fits in with the legion as a whole. While they're united as a single force, there are many sub-factions and small groups within them either divided by role or association with one of the four major gods.

Though, if you do want some help I did write a guide on producing wargaming lore a while back. It's more intended to help with armies, but most of what I would suggest to help you would just be repeating myself from there.

Wow, that is actually a really amazing guide! It would have been great when I was starting out, but I'm bookmarking that page anyways. You should post that somewhere visible, to help out the warhammer newbs that this game will inevitably attract.
