@Ethon Teralix slowly opens his eyes and stares right at Ethon. His heart rate quickening as if he were registering a potential threat. Upon realizing that it was just Ethon he closes his eyes and drifts back into his slumber.
< @Uriel1339 @Grimdestiny @TARINunit9 @Vulpas @Casavay > Eventually, the supplies were gathered, the Tamers and their companions had gathered along with Zafira, and they set off. They had decided on a point just inside the forest, so that they could be both in deep vegetation, somewhat similar as well to urban environments, and in the open plains, whichever caught their fancy in the moment. The journey took them until early in the evening, but they reached their destination without issue...
@Grimdestiny @TARINunit9 @Vulpas @Casavay Each of the Astartes got a different backpack, but they carried similar supplies. The Devastator took the heavier load on himself, having left his Missile Launcher and Ammo Feed Backpack at the fortress in exchange for more space. He still was armed with a Bolt Pistol and his Combat knife, however. "I am used to hiking and camping trips from Macragge. Part of the training, to survive in the mountains - by your own as well as in groups. What about you? What were your worlds like where you became a fully fledged Battle-Brother, where your saga of becoming a hero among the Angels of Death began?" Ethon marched proud at his side, still incapable of flying, though she slowly started to walk over between Cacasus and Dumas, eyeing them with curiosity and interest, gazing here and there also at their beasts.
@Uriel1339 Cacasus flinched, and quickly disguised his movement as the readjusting of his pack, as he was carrying most of the water. His first instinct was to balk at the question because one of his chapter's many secrets was at stake. However, there was an easy lie that his squadmates would have no reason to question and would have no way to verify even if they did. "I was recruited from the Piscina system, the binary planet of Piscina V. It's little more than deserts and volcanos. A hike like this is nothing for my heritage." The Dark Angel scratched the head of his wildcat to calm himself back down
@Uriel1339 Varrick was near the back Carrying a packs of tools and supplies that would likely be needed for there little Hike, After Casus Reply about his home he spoke about his own home world."My home world is Medusa, Living there is a hard but proving Life Your always on the move needing to be ready to fight for supplies or for Safe grounds to rest, This hike can be considered to be relatively simple for a tribe of Medusa Less dangerous, and more places to easily get resources from and more food from game to hunt. Even our Chapter is some what Nomadic with our Mobile Fortress we keep on our home world to defend it. Keeps us fit and strong and prevents us from being weak. So that only the strongest may Thrive." Varrick said as He moved forward. Nix Skittered among the Back of the group often times looking at environment picking at things trying to catch Various animals and Picking at rocks and cracking them into two. Every so Often Varrick would Give a simple Snap of his own iron finger to get Nix's attention to catch up.
To claim that she kept up with the Sky-Men effortlessly would be a hubristic lie, but the beastkeeper managed not to fall behind as they wandered over the face of her beloved home. Supporting herself partly on a simple walking stick, and carrying the bags with her tools, Zafira listened in on the Sky-Men's talk of other worlds and the weather there. Expecially the black-clad and green-clad ones seemed to confirm her theory that they came from very hellish planes of existence, far beyond the tapestry of the sky above. To her, it only worked as proof that these warriors were indeed the demi-divine creatures mythology spoke of, even if they talked of these other, mythical places quite casually. She kept quiet, however, and an eye on the injured beasts.
Listening Intently as the others told there story, wondering to himself about what those worlds might look like. After They all got done speaking he looked around to make sure he was free to speak. "My pride aches to converse about this topic...for the planet i came from, much like the blasted plains of Baal was wracked with destruction and radioactivity, It is called Sicnara II. Well it was...I was one of only a handful of recruits taken from the planet by the blood angels before the planet was subjected to its second Exterminatus. The first time it was bombed from orbit due to a Genestealer Occupation that couldn't be quelled rapidly enough before it spread to almost all the inhabitants in its Many numerous hives. The second time was because of heresy spreading rapidly through the warrior tribes that lived there in the destroyed hives that had moved in from the caves after the bombs exploded. I was a member of these tribes and very few of us resisted the heresy spreading through our ranks, fighting tooth and nail for our home until the Blood angels arrived and recruited us still loyal to the Imperium and...well the planet isn't there anymore but my peoples legacy lives on through those handful of marines that were recruited from there." Dumas finishes his story with a long pause "The Emperor Protects" Teralix noticing the emotion of his master leans over and rubs his head in Dumas's Hand.
"I feel you, brother Dumas. I also have witnessed Exterminatus, just to deny a Tyranid Hive Fleet 'Biomass', or as we, the fourth had seen them - human beings. Tragedies, but it only proves that not even we are almighty." Promethus admitted just before they reached an ideal position for a camp, to emote that he put his backpack down, clasping his hands. "We have all the supplies we need. But now we need to get comfortable. Someone start a fire. Varrick, can you and Nix cut some trees to form simple stools out of their trunks so we can sit around the fire? Someone else should aid Zafira in ensuring proper resting places and setup an emergency medical-tent for our companions. I will walk a small round in a hundred feet radius to ensure nothing too dangerous walks in these corners." Typical Ultramarine as he was he assumed to be in charge of operations, after all the camping was his idea. Ethon chirped at him, as if to ask if she can accompany him. "No my little steel eagle, you stick with the others and help them establishing the camp. You are a strong female, so you won't have any problems with nesting, do you?" She gave him a twist of her head in reply and a 'Pah'-like sound. How dare he be so misogynistic?! After all he gave her a boy's name! Nonetheless she complied and walked up to Zafira, wanting to help the one who helped her.
Cacasus's ears perked up at the mention of Genestealers. He didn't feel it right to interrupt Prometheus's somber tale, but he was about to chime in with the loss of the old Dark Angels recruiting world, known in the legends as simply "the plains world". So went the legend, Genestealers had enslaved everyone and nearly converted the planet into another beacon for the hive fleets; it was only the sacrifice of the first members of Deathwing as it existed today that the planet's scattered survivors could be saved, and even then the planet was deemed too ravaged to be used as recruitment for several centuries. A Brother-Codicer in particular had given his life to take down the wretched patriarch of the tyranid spawn. In irreparable loss, but all the more noble for it "Anything in particular you need me to do?" asked Cacasus after Ethon made her way to Zafira. Diolux had wandered off again, curling up by the Iron Hand after the mention of a campfire
@Uriel1339 Varrick nodded at the Orders taking Nix with him with a snap and pointing towards a Tree Beside where he would work, Taking a Axe of his Size out of his bag he began beside Nix to work at the tree, Taking powerful strikes it was in several minutes the astarte had Tree going down, Using one hand is to help guide it down he began to lean it down. Nix's progress On her tree was going Slower, As She worked at the trunk Taking swipes at it and turning as she got slowly to the center she began to hear it tip slowly towards her, She Quickly skittered to the other side and with a snap finished it causing the rest of it to fall down. She seem to snip in Satisfaction of her job being completed, Now with enough Trees Varrick began Taking measurements for the amount of stools he would need As he did he made marks On the Trunk Of the First Tree of where he would strike, He continued his work Silently aiming to keep concentration it and Nix split.
