ITS NOT HARD IF YOU LEAD A SQUAD SET THE OBJECTIVES! 1. You will be top of the squad list if you are leading it regardless of whether you want to or not. 2. Look at the objective and Hold "Q" to set it as the attack or defend. 3. You get free XP for doing anything at the objective 4. You do not have to give fancy orders just set the objective when you attack or defend. 5. You get a huge bonus to your XP for everything done at an objective! 6. Team mates get bonuses for XP for everything done at an objective! 7. Did we mention FREE XP? 8. Yes free xp for just being near it! 9. Your squad will love you for it! 10. You can honestly DOUBLE your XP! I have watched a 10 man squad ask for objectives and be completely ignored, I then shoot the leader and he immediately complains about it. You have proven you can speak English. Its not a hard concept to Hold Q at one of the big floating letters!
It's true, they become nothing but little experience gathering minions. It's not uncommon to get 12k-13k experience in a winning match for a Squad lead that's actively moving commands to active spots.
Most experienced players will give orders. The problem comes when the squad leader promotes you to lead. The game doesn't let you know it's happened, so you can spend half a game thinking the sarge is crap - until you look and realise you are the crap sarge.. Game needs to notify you - YOU ARE NOW THE SQUAD LEADER !
I have a concept of it, please leave your comments on what you think: 1. A big pop-up window appears, blocking your view, with a single message typed in 72 font size, perhaps its appearance is accompanied by a special sound 2. Then a player is informed of his promotion through an e-mail notification sent to his Steam profile, personal e-mail and EC official web-site's profile 3. Then he is personally contacted by the lead game designer, community manager and senior producer via e-mail or phone, all of them congratulating him and informing him of his promotion (in case he hasnt seen e-mail notifications and a big in-game pop-up message) 4. Alongwith 3 previous steps a separate thread is created on this web-site, its title informing a player of his promotion and other players congratulating him via personal messages So what do you think, is it enough?
Sometimes I notice it......... I'm on board with all this but you forgot to notify my next of kin and family; I'd like them to be able to congratulate me too (without having to fish for it - I mean it's awkward; nobody likes fishing for compliments )
Ok fair enough, my first point can be ignored for anyone with eyes But how about this one - sometimes I can give orders on the spawn map, sometimes I can't. Is it broken, or am I being stupid again !?
Afaik you can't give orders on the Point while you are at the respawn screen, but once spawned it's always possible
Tbh what I think we need is automatic demotion/promotion of the squad leader if nothing has been marked within 2 minutes of the fight starting. I've asked countless times on squad for the leader to mark and even when you address them by name and ask for them to mark something very rarely happens if they aren't doing it from the start
