Chapter Master The Game

Discussion in 'Off-Topic Discussions' started by UMC, Oct 24, 2013.

  1. The scouts and the psykers both. I want to know how to generate req.
  2. Alright. The following is based on your votes.

    Votes:
    Almost everyone wanted scouts
2 votes for the manufactorum 1 vote for half a manufactorum with minimal output
2 votes for a temple, 1 vote for sending chaplain to train priests instead
    1 vote for hoarding resources
1 vote for helping our librarian
3 votes for getting rid of the planets pyskers.

I'm ignoring things with only 1 vote in them.
    The results:

Brother chaplain and Kerios |our techmarine gets a name|, you ask for to many resources. You will each receive half of what you asked for, Keiros I expect you to be able to provide some output until we can further fund your project and Chaplain I have a special task for you, the training of several dozen priests to accompany the new temples. 4th captain you will receive all that you asked for. That is all, everyone is dismissed.

*The chaplain stared at the tech-marine hard, if looks could kill you would fear for Keiros's life, he possibly blames him and exits with some haste to board your only thunderhawk to the surface*
*The tech-marine makes a polite nod to you and takes his leave, he is walking fairly casually to the thunderhawk*
*Your captains all leave together talking amongst themselves from what you make out the tone seems to be rather joyous*
*Your librarian leaves, his footsteps seeming to drag on; of course only one such as yourself would've noticed*
*Good thing, I didn't tell him what I intend after all, you think to yourself |The expulsion of psykers is an expensive undergoing it will require one of your two strike cruisers, 200 req and 100 of your marines as guards for the strike cruiser, if you still wish to do this you can next year|*

The results (if you want to see the die rolls I apparently need your e-mail address):
    42 men became scouts
2 men are warp sensitive (Up to you what to do)
    24 men became serfs
the remaining 32 men are dead
Construction of the less than grand temples will take one more year (would've been 2 but you have the empire builders trait)
Construction of the 'half' manufactorum will take one more year (would've been 2 but empire builders)

Req spent: 299 (155+119+25) Incase you're wondering why the strange numbers. Empire builders reduced the cost by 5% for your two constructions.

    Remaining req: 26

    Random event:
    4-3-6
    4:Neutral event
3: Negative consequence will be fairly harsh
6: Positive consequence will be fantastic!

Your 3rd largest city is in complete chaos after a cult blew up all the government buildings as well as various others the city is having full scale riots, as well as other more unsavory things. The arbites are keeping the city in lock-down, this detracts from your income by 25 and increases planet unrest by 10. However, in completely unrelated news a mine has opened up half-way across the planet creating many jobs and thanks to taxes increasing your income by 100.

For those doing the math thats 325-25+100=400 income for next year

    and so ends turn 1.

    Turn 2.

*Rioting, rioting, rioting the thought keeps entering your head, for 3 weeks there have been riots.*

Unlike last year you're at the meeting first. Your tech-marine and chaplain will be absent, each fulfilling there duties on the surface. However, your 4 captains have walked in with a surprising guest, the planetary governor himself. 31 years ago when you came to this planet, you met the governor a young; energetic, noble and loyal man, the two of you together had transformed the world into a fortress able to withstand any assault. He no longer had his youth, and it seemed his health was failing, but otherwise he was every bit the same man you became friends with all those years ago. Your librarian arrived shortly after and the meeting began.

Governor: Chapter master, I won't bother wasting your time with any more words than necessary. I need 100 of your marines to end the rioting in my city and purge the cult presence there.

*Each of your captains speaks up demanding the honor to be the one to lead his company in, only your 4th captain has kept quiet*

Librarian: Sir, there is also the matter of the two new recruits. With the resources available to me now it will take 15 years before I can ever trust them to serve you at acceptable standards. Please sir, I know last year you considered my request unimportant, but if you want more librarians it will take time unless you invest resources. |25 resources= -1 year|

    |This year is a lot more open ended and you can push your own agenda a lot easier than the last you have 426 req, also i'm updating first post as we go along.|
  3. How do we gain req output?
  4. How do you think? Raise taxes, look for resources on your planet to increase the income. Random events. If you can think of a way that makes sense to raise income, suggest it.
  5. Lol, I guess being Chaos it's easy for you to see how people can fall into corruption, whereas the loyalists playing are like "Pfft, we'd never turn".

    OH MY GOD, MY SIDES!
    Arkaneth likes this.
  6. Oh yea and to get them just shipped to our mighty corpse will cost 250 req. But, won't require you to do the transporting. May increase unrest.

Every year you get req, based on the rolls each turn it may decrease or increase. I think our choices are of consequence too.

Although 100 sounds a lot; they're Space Marines, if we end the rioting swiftly and with overwhelming force, it's only for the better, as it might spread. Astartes intervention could serve as a deterrent, as well as helping the governor; meaning we don't deteriorate the good relations with the government. I'd say send the fourth company. The fourth company should stick to recruiting and training our current 46 scouts + get more. Command the captain of the fourth to use the rebellion as a means to find strong warriors who are loyal to the Imperial Creed and make them either serfs or trainees.

Give the Librarian 200req for the training of the Librarians, halfing the time he needs. As they're warp-sensitive it's better to have them trained earlier and well; rather than leave it be. In the meanwhile, use the other 200req to remove the other psykers; I don't like the idea of having a cult with psykers on the loose. The third company can be assigned to do that.
  8. Then we don't ship them. We gotta be cheap for now.
  9. Uriel1339 Uriel1339 Lord of Posts

Send the 3rd Company for the riots!

Don't give the Psyker anything, get rid of the 2 warp sensitive people, no chaos shall be done!

Tell the Chaplain and the Adeptus Mechanicus guy that they are doing a great job and that I am looking forwards to their completed tasks to motivate them and show them we really liked their proposals last year and looking forwards to the fruits their completed tasks will bring to our chapter.
  10. Send the First to deal with the riot, and invest in the psykers.
