Yes, RoF is basically better than Burny in every way. The only advantage ours has is that it can be used on Stormboyz, applying the fire to the air charge. Once it gets nerfed to the same burning as RoF I'll just swap to a lifesteal setup.
Dunno why everyone is going bananas over this thing when the electro choppa pretty much one or two shots anyone anyways. Maybe burny would be better against warlocks but outside that seems kinda over hyped.
I personally hate Choppa Blades and Chain Coppa because of the abysmal clash/impact trading. I much prefer the axe or clubba so I can win or go even in clashes. Lifesteal is currently far too useful to not bring in every melee setup at the moment in my opinion. So I personally stick to the Clubba or Choppa Axe With Penetration and Lifesteal attachments. If I HAD to choose a non-lifesteal weapon though I'd go with the Git Prod you get from the 30k req boxes. Its a Electrified Choppa Axe with boosted heavy attack damage (260 I think) and 140 penetration. It'll let you one shot almost anyone with a heavy attack to the back.
There was an ork who went for ~70 kills in one refinery match as a stormboy with the Burny Choppa. One hit with it, against anything other than a pure clang, would result in full fire damage and a one shot. He would just drop, get a hit, and jump away. It is more infuriating to die instantly from one weapon than it is to stand still like a lug in front of Abaddon's Grace or not knowing what a Wolf Priest with Rites of Fire looks like. Pretty much any Ork can use it while those that can't get rockets or poison. Orks used to be fun to play against, but now it's just cheesers who made a new ork toon because they found a new OP weapon.
12k box. Does a lot of damage, just a basic choppa with no attachments allowed, costs 300 LP with the advancement.
No the big difference is in the fight engagement, you can fast attack from the air, its unstopable. The axe is OP with charged attacks, but burning choppa just with fast attacks.
The only way that the Burny Chopa oneshots is from a charged attack from behind (damage + dot). If you're getting one shotted from the front/side you took damage from something else around the same time. That being said, I've set people on fire when hitting with dbash with it
You can parry air fast attacks with a dbash, Happens to my Stormboy CONSTANTLY. Actually landing an air charge is incredibly difficult because the aoe is so tiny and people paying any sort of attention will roll out of it. If you know a stormboy is coming for your giblets, you have no excuse for getting hit from the air. If you don't know a Stormboy is coming, you either aren't paying attention or he's being super sneaky. Boosting puts JPA on the radar like shooting does. Lets be real, if a Stormboy lands on your head, you won't die because it's a burny choppa, you'll die because a Stormboy jumped on you
