You did forget to factor in mass, but physics really isn't the point. Fact is: respawning over and over again trying to go from point A to B just to be run over repeatedly just isn't fun. I always bring melta bombs and i can never plant one on an Eldar Veh, and usually if it is standing still i can't because the main-gun kills me because its rotation speed and accuracy is insane. I don't even try anymore really. What is fun is important, not TT or Physics or anything like that. EDIT: I'm not LSM, so i have no idea about how Grav Guns change this.
I have no problem killing eldar, as im a decent player. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWEVER, I do not use plasma cannon as I am not that good with leading shots. What I can say though, is that I have died, MOOOOOORE times than any other person in exsistence to friendly plasma fire. Y'know why I didnt get mad, still havent gotten mad, will never get mad over it? because usually im in the middle of a fight and if it looks like im going to lose in the slightest, im going to make DAMN SURE that the $%^&head on the otherside is going down with me, aka, friendly plasma cannon fire. It amuses me to no end that people are so scared and whiney about plasma cannon fire, when ive seen plenty of people walk right in front of Plas-cannoneers, dying from the shot just so they could get the kill instead. TL;DR Everyone who bitches and complains about something needs to step up their game and GIT GUD.
Are you quite literally incapable of forming the synapses required to understand how vehicles work? Vehicles need to be destroyed, now that your bullshit tank can be destroyed, your getting uppity over the fact its now possible to kill your tank instead of cheesing your way through a match like a bad player.
I honestly believe this is more of an issue of using the right tool for the job. Melta bombs are not the right tool to fight Eldar vehicles with, Multimelta and LC are. The MM will eat Eldar vehicles up and give you the range to not be in the road to reach them. LC can pop them pretty fast if they stay in the area, but usually they will bug out once you give them a las shot, which is a partial victory because they won't go back in until your gone.
Melta definitely bypasses toughness (or has crazy high pen). Fairly certain poison does. Not sure about fire.
I wouldn't simplify it to just switching to LC or MM. There are problems with that as well. Like the inability to defend your CAP or just plain getting ganked and not helping at all.
There is nothing more appealing to a melee player than seeing someone with a lascannon. That's free xp.
I'll give you a protip I'm using when I'm killed by a vehicle once: Pick AT loudout and kill the vehicle. At best, you have 300+ exp for yourself. At worst, you have opened the way for everyone else to go safely while you stand guard with lascannon/MM/melta/now grav. Don't play like you're one of the grots in Space Marine campaign, resist the urge to participate in bolter porn and help the team, because unless you're playing in a premade, its likely that no one else will leave his safe space of fav class in favor of making the game easier for everyone else by dispatching the vehicle. Pugs play like idiots, having blinders on their eyes, not even considering class switch to fill what is needed to win-you can be a part of that group, or you can adapt and create an opening for that sorry bunch of lemmings.
It's always been able to be destroyed. They're far from invincible. The thing is that most players try to take them on and catagorize them like the tracked vehicles other races possess. They aren't, so the same tactics won't work on them. I say the same thing when I see melee players as a tank crew.
Broken game mechanics are still broken regardless of how long they've been broken. Heavy weapons classes have needed pistols for 15 months, that doesn't change the fact that they still need pistols. L2play is the answer to broken melee mechanics... of course. What was I thinking using game mechanics as they're intended to be used. Eldar walking in circles and the speed issues shown in the video still defeat Ork and Astartes melee mechanics, nothing has changed on that front.
