Is Big shoota worth it over regular shoota if you like to Dakka? I like the shoota but sometimes I wish it hit a little bit harder ,so I thought maybe the Big shoota could compensate for that. It's 40k for it and I don't want to waste it...(Grinding as an Ork is boring as hell atm) Btw how do I get the poison pistol as a Painboy can't find it in the store?
Not really. It has a huge damage fall-off after 8m, for some reason they turned it into a sub-par stormbolter while the standard shoota is the superior ranged version. It should be the exact opposite: shoota being some kind of SMG, big shoota almost like a lighter heavy bolter. I think someone said he found the sicky slugga in a 5k crate? But good luck with getting actually what you need in these things...
I wouldn't bother with it right now. It's a good gun, but not noticeably better than the shooter. Just different.
It should have at least better penetration or a bit more of damage. It has suppretion, better base magazine and fire rate. But it kills the weapon the fact that the turn rate is slooooow as hell.
The one situation where a big shoota trumps a regualr shoota is if you manage to get behind/flank myltiple targets. If you unload on a clustered group the big shoota is likely to take all of them out if they are already distracted. Since thats a really rare scenario the regular shoota is better atm.
Still not touching it personally. It blooms too much too quickly to ever justify taking over a Shoota right now, for me personally at least. It's supposed to be a longer range engagement choice over the Shoota but due to Orks naturally random ass bullet trajectories it's near impossible to hit thing reliably at the intended long range. Which is s shame, because the Tracey Big Shoota is lovely looking.
It really does need slightly more dmg per hit an a dmg fall off extension of like 15m. If I can't shoot a marine 40 feet away with no cover and down him despite landing 75% of the hits in a 4 second window thats just kinda sad.
I agree. It definitely needs either more damage per hit or more penetration. I REALLY want to like it, but I've been pulling some decent numbers with a regular shoota and what few mods I've cobbled together. I mean, speaking on mods alone, if you drop an extended Mag/Drum Mag in the regular shoota, you already closed the advantage gap between the two significantly.
