Soo i believe it was in last weeks stream that the devs mention how we could get to other continents in the game. That we first need to gain control of a port and then from there we need to like assault and take the port on another continent. All i could think about after that was and epic beach assaults on a port controlled by another faction on the other continent, think D day...40k style and i honestly really really want this Even if there no naval ships and where just drop off on the beach by air, i still want it like... i think i might even need it. So you guys with me here beach assault or no beach assaults?
D-Day 40k version: The Imperial Guard crashed their fleet onto the beaches and took out the Chaos incursion at its source. They then lost over 80% of said forces due to them crashing into said planet. Overall, the mission was named a success and the operation dubbed maneuver Steel Rain. Accommodations and promotions were given to the Commissars in charge of the operation.
The only navy is the Imperial Navy, and they don't fly through the water! But yeah I dont hate the idea of a thunderhawk dropping off some marines while anti air cannons stop it from going to far inland, and ork roks crashing into the beach unloading orks and the like. Considering battles are all we're gonna have, may as well have as many different types of them as possible!
It's Creed....he can do it whatever the damn hell he pleases. If he says jump, the entire Segmentum jumps. Beach landings though would be extremely rare because only the Sororitas and a very very small amount of Imperial Guard regiments have any naval units that can be on a planet since the need is so small.
The ports are space ports, for ships, there is no naval battle in 40k, so beach assaults, maybe, depends on how they would work, I wouldnt mind a huge fight to capture a large port base, that was somewhat like Dday, but nothing like, you get there by boat and all that.
