I like that they went with a WW1 theme. Of course it won't be historically accurate in any way (it is Battlefield, what are you expecting?) Just think of it as a steampunk action shooter and it will be awesome.
I hope this means they will go back to the more slow paced/gun skill based game that battlefield used to be. All these gimmicks in major shooters are just getting old.
I heard that melee weapons such as swords are viable weapons in the game, but thats just what I heard. I WANT A BF 2142 REMAKE SO HARD ITS KILLING ME.
All you'll do is be stuck in a trench for most of the campaign unable to leave your cover due to barrages and that one time you do leave the trench you charge into no-man's land and die. Although I demand Blackadder Goes Forth easter eggs. I want to find a private named Baldrick and when you're in the tutorial for learning how to fly you have Lord Flashheart train you but does it in the same way Lord Flashheart would. Spoiler At least they're trying something different unlike CoD's newest FUTURISTIC theme. It is the only thing that was going to interest me was a historical game theme to play. I hope they don't follow Battlefront's pick ups and Star Cards. I also hope they make it brutal as fuck. I don't know seeing things like the first time Gas was used as it decimated Allied lines with absolutely no protection from it, seeing ridiculous amount of men charging across the fields at locations like Somme and Verdun, when the British pounded the fuck out of German lines with non-stop artillery for days until they assumed that the Germans were all dead and slowly walked across the field until they got mowed down by machinegun fire and all that kinda stuff.
I think gun emplacements such as artillery are available, so its possible that there will be The Bogging down 2: Revenge of the bog downening Though tanks will pretty much ruin the fun of trench warfare
For the Germans at least. =P British, French and American forces will be having a rather fun time riding their tanks. Maybe we'll even see Patton charging into battle atop his tanks. I wonder if they'll do a Russian perspective part of the campaign.
Germans still managed to get tanks into the war, though they were pretty shit-tier and not very many of them.
Well that is my point as the Allies had hundreds and hundreds of them that were muchly improved over their original designs while the Germans had less than forty made operational by the end of the war and even then they were used in odd engagements. Then again the first time the British used them they did seem to be a blunder for the British forces as they fucked up...
I hope we get messenger pigeons to call in artillery strikes, and fixed bayoynets/gun butting. Man I sure do miss gun butting with the shift key.
