When can we expect the next round of balance changes, I get that the devs wanted time to gather data but there are some major imbalance issues including weapon balance, Class balance & LP costs. Is there an ETA or is it literally just "we want to collect data so you just have to wait"
They have a dev stream on twitch every Friday, try to extract information from that if you really want to know, they are bound to bring something up.
Schedule for Twitch on the 10th says balance revamp updates. Should get some info about upcoming changes though probably pretty vague heh.
The only hint so far is that they realize Supports got hammered hard. No other indications yet even tho I've tried asking on the last two live streams.
I would say very vague, last week had it on the schedule as well and it was like "we're looking at data and have fixes coming" no on what or any clue on what data showing
In my personal experience... Expect approximately 5 to 6 months to see balance changes on issues that become prominent, from the earliest time they get noticed by a few members of the community. They seem to run on 3 to 4 month cycles of implementation of stuff, thereabouts. Suggestions that get a lot of noise on the forums seem to take approximately this long to make it in-game. Some balance changes take a couple of months to get noticed. As an example: Back when they implemented the longer knife-user's defensive bash stun, some of us tested it on UAT. It was raised on the forums that tacticals firing primary weapons after defensive bash was going to be an issue on live. That was what... a couple of months ago now, or something? It's only really coming to light on the forums now. They should start noticing it around about now. It will take them a few months to get it into the live build of the game, so we're stuck with bash & bolter for a little while. I remember christmas 2015 (into 2016) it took somewhere between 6 and 7 months to fix JPA's being completely immune to the defensive bash stun. Literally one class was immune to a melee move outright, but it was not fixed until almost summer. They implemented the patch November, then took a few months christmas break. It took them until March or April or something to even mention it on twitch. It then took a few more months to get that fix into live. I know some of these guys play their own game, but sometimes it's crazy to see how some stuff gets missed. Maybe it doesn't... but it just takes that long to get round to getting a fix in the game.
There is a balance change on UAT allready, hits especially support and JPA in a positive way, aká buffing their Armor +50 (painboy seems to get +25 health +25 Armor, or was that allready the case?)
Last I heard their going to make Melee's only viable weapon left (Power Fist / Klaw which is only viable on ground based Melee, try it on air based and your still fodder) "More interesting" - in other words most likely nerfed. I would love to not have to rely on the fist to be viable in Melee but the simple fact is that anything that's not the faction specific Scorpions or CSM's poison chain swords which are almost ok are just plain worthless. (you'd think the Burny Choppa would be good by that reasoning but its not). I'm hoping airborne classes will be made more viable so we can to take to the skies again. Sick of all this foot slogging. Because right now anyone who chooses any airborne class is just a liability to their faction.
