Right now . it seem like there is about 15 k or so people who are wanting to play this game . though expecting more. Though when I think of 40k TT . I think a crap tons of people who love I.p and TT. How isn't ec having more than 1 million people wanting to play this game . it looks really promising . when warhammer online came out . millions played . I thought it was because of I.p . how isn't all the TT players not wanting to play this just because of I.p . I know there is a hell of a lot more warhammer fans out there . also better playing and feeling of a warhammer universe then spending thousands on gw minatures. I'm really hoping for millions to play this. More people kill. Also I bet it could help the eldar and ork and csm faction to even out against sm . there has to be more eldar and ork fans out there . even the horus heresy book series sold over a million copies. Shouldn't there be millions on this website wanting this game?

  2. I know a lot of people who have abandoned the TT entirely because all the changes to old units and all the new stuff.
Seems like it started in 4th Edition and picked up steam from there.
Personally I love most of the new stuff, and GW is so darn good at making models. I just don't know anyone who was able to keep up with the rate of expansion.
Some buddies and I had almost every model GW had ever made by the end of 3rd edition. After that it was just "BOOM!!!" no way to keep up with the product lines (and forgeworld).
As a collectable, no one cares anymore about having a MK1 Power Armor Marine, or the Limited Edition Skullz Mars sets... Armorcast Baneblades with metal tread kit.....metal thunderhawk.....limited edition Necron Scarab on Examination Table....... etc. They KILLED the collectable aspect of the hobby by flooding the market.
Besides.....Who could ever have enough time to paint all that stuff?

Just as you said "expecting more". It's still in Pre-Alpha so there are still people waiting to see how things turn out. Give it time, the game will develop for the better because the team is trustworthy with knowledge of things to do and not to do, have a great open transparent fair policy, the IP is amazing, the game will become known by means of us the players spreading it such as by showing off the game on youtube and streaming sites, and any marketing they throw out into the masses. The game will become great and filled with glorious battle.
[IMG] Yes I know that's a Star Wars Stormtrooper in the background. I don't care, the point still stands!

Probably in the case of W:AR once bitten, twice shy . That was a difficult pill to swallow for GW fans, seeing the WH Fantasy treated poorly in favor of a rushed and clumsy development cycle (if not outright sucking). The majority of potential players are likely keeping tabs on EC in development when it comes up in media, or are aware of it, but few games attract massive support in pre-Alpha (there are exceptions). You could also point to the very limited, but fun, Space Marine, seeing THQ fall apart prior to DMO as some of the more clued in gamers not wanting to get their hopes up just to see a failure. That's a diminishing concern for people I talk with about Eternal Crusade but I know for a fact it prevented some of my friends from investing in the Founder program (and the sidegrade controversy, in all honesty).

I think millions will play it, but I know a fare few TT players and a considerable amount of them don't actually enjoy online gaming. Some just enjoy throwing dice with a good beer and some mates to relax and outright refuse to play video games. Others don't like 'this' or 'that' type of game, and EC is difficult to pin down into a firm category atm.

There's bound to be a large group who don't enjoy EC purely because it has shooter elements. It's kind of like how I don't expect a huge number of my DOW friends to make the transition, not because the IP representation is lacking but because team-based tactical shooter/action games aren't everyone's cup of tea. You could easily make the case for MMOs being somewhat renowned for dumbing down established IPs too these days, TOR and ESO are shadows of their fore-bearers. Eternal Crusade has no direct ancestor, except Space Marine (Firewarrior ? Hmm), but having the MMO tag has become a slight stigma strangely enough. I admit I was initially distrustful of BHVR's interpretation of 40K before I looked into it myself, chiefly because I hated what Bioware did to my beloved KOTOR and I saw DMO going down the same path. And dammit, all I wanted was Skyrim co-op

That's the point though: It's a combination of generating more hype through exposure and just as importantly, having a solid product to promote. Come Alpha when more footage leaks and the Devs are out with the publisher (whoever that is) pushing the game in every digital media outlet possible ... It's going to get crowded as elephant balls in here o_O Give it 2-3 months. Pachyderm nuts everywhere.

Yea. But early access is soon. Hype in mmo.com gone down. Warhammer is a really awesome I.p . this game is looking really amazing . I stop playing gw just to wait for this. I'm so hype. It 40k . and its warhammer . I wonder if anyone at gw shops know if this game is even being made. Should be try put out marketing of this at the gw store around Europe and na and Russia . I hear Russians are crazy for 40k with the americans . and Europeans are for fantasy but probably won't care since its warhammer . usually all 40k games sell really well. Space marines . Dow series but those games had a crap ton of marketing . maybe ec needs to be in game magazines . highlighted at front page . I have not seen a magazine like PC gamer . have ec on it yet. Be needs to get the game come across and have a video of it on the disc that p.c gamer usually has .

Or maybe bring out full guns . at next e3 or game convention . with playable game for more than just 10 vs 10 . I know angry Joe got positive reviews but not much people came to this site . I'm just expected to see more people on this site waiting for this game . it's 40k xD god who wouldn't want to be terminator or a striking scorpians and have that feeling . or a warp spider . its better than paying 30 dollars for couple of space marines that do nothing but paint them and put them on them on shelf and . sit there till you fight with them . though doesn't compare to having a bolt gun and shoot them in the face with it . or actually experience a tyranids hoard running at you with only 20 space marines. That awesome 40k feeling that you see in the pics . that makes modern day combat seem like nothing compared to the wars in 40k
  7. I think alot of the TT guys could care less. Alot of the guys at my local shop think this game is just a space marine rip off. A few of the guys also dont want to play with people who only know of 40k from DOW. But thats just my shop
  8. Dreadwing22 Dreads Prefectus

I would love to see thousands of orkz running at me and a space marine company lined up with thousands of guardsmen all over place in line . then big close combat guns blazing at each other . like in this image[IMG]. that's why I want all TT people playing . I just expected a lot more people come to the forums cause its 40k.
  9. Dreadwing22 Dreads Prefectus

Warhammer online was a wow rip off. And did really well. No excuse to say 40k ec is a sm rip off and not play it. What if ec is really well done and won't play it cause it is just sm rip off.
  10. How to attract Eternal Crusade to Table Top players guide.

Step1: Slap a big ol WARHAMMER 40K label on it
Step2: Go on about how lore accurate its going to be
Step3: Dont fuck up the game like the last few 40k games.
