Shadow Spectres... I dunno. I kinda like them. Visually they remind me of both necron, and space marines. And generally when it comes to customization. More, is better. It's "It's a game." Versus lore. Honestly, considering that this is is... A game. I'd rather have more options.
So your reasoning for wanting Shadow Spectres in the Eldar list is that they remind you of two other races? :/
That and they're awesome? Unfortunately they wouldn't translate in to the game as something super necessary.. Especially because Meltaguns have the whole multiple guns shoot one target thing.. which was kind of the Shadow Spectres' thing.. That and they fit in this weird Anti-nothinginparticular role, whilst being slightly mobile and kind of stealthy? In my opinion they're the least specialised Aspect ever... and hence there are other classes to go in first *cough* Warp Spiders *cough* Shining Spears *cough* Either way.. Did this thread ever come to consensus on Aspect Warrior Visual Customisation.. or this just Eldar General Discussion now ?! Also, there was a little talk of Shadow Spectres being a possibility later on..
I thought Shadow Spectres murder vehicles from stealth and far away... That and they look cool. I think as far as customization goes we're stuck lol. I'd just ask GW whether the aspect armor can be loosely based on the aspects themselves like in a lot of art so that as long as it's recognizable they can customize it however they want.
Well judging from the models we see currently aren't they only loosely based on the artwork/models? I guess they've got to keep in mind progression options (i.e. you look cooler over time). They did say they were looking at some bits and bobs to attach to Aspect Warriors to denote their Craftworld. Personally I like the idea I put forward ages ago of simply varying the Aspect Shrine by Craftworld, so they all have the major colours of the shrine but vary a little. That would be more work, but still cool.. That said it's difficult to do "Customisation" when they're meant to use one set of armour/weapons.
I saw a picture of a Dire Avenger wearing two bands of cloth bound around his armor (one around the arm and one around the leg), it looked rather good and was well withing the lore. The pieces of cloth seemed to match the color of the craftworld (I believe they were yellow and with a symbol on them). I am quite certain I saw it on this forum/some of the artwork from EC, but I can't remember where EDIT: It was the wallpaper on my computer... Anyhow, as you can see, the Striking Scorpion carries one too. If it actually has some kind of specific meaning, then feel free to enlighten me
funny, I am hoping the armors are able to selected as either gender. I've seen models of both armors. and I would love to be a male howling banshee, for the sheer humor of it. But I also would like playing inside my own gender with male models. I do see the respect in having female models for the eldar as well too though, so I am not too upset about that. As for customizations, sashes, robes, and trinkets are all viable armor customizations that would look lovely. I personally Would love to take an eldar warlock or howling banshee into the fray, I'd settle on swooping hawk if I had to, but I oh so love stabbing through my enemies with a striking scorpion. Oh the joys of feeling the enemy burn beneath your feet at the power of the fire Dragon. The sensation of your dire-sword slicing kneedeep into monkeigh filth, spilling a drop of blood for every eldar ever slain, the sensation of cold hard recoil as your reaper launcher rains death upon the enemy. Give me my aspects, and I'll give you Khaine.
A few things that you could do include: 1) Aspect Symbol on forehead 2) Craftworld symbol on banner or chest piece 3) Craftworld colours on shoulder pieces 4) Addition of gemstones 5) Addition/Alterations of aspect based patterns or parts e.g. Striking Scorpion dreads, Hawk feathers and Banshee head dress Plain Swooping Hawk: Saim-Hann Swooping Hawk:
