  1. Hey all! I've found that I have some excess muse, and thus wished to begin another RP. After conversing with @Uriel1339 a bit, I have come up with an idea that I am not sure has been done before, and could be fun.

Granted, I know I am not the most knowledgeable of 40k lore, especially Eldar. (Nowhere near the level of @Uriel1339 @Jorimel ) but I hope to do my best, and make a fun, casual RP with a good amount of action and character development. With openings for romance with NPCs or PCs if desired (Yes, I know 40k isn't known for romance. I'm weird :p)

So! The poll has 4 canon aspects (the three I thought a bit more interesting preceded by the most general), the ability to choose another Canon Aspect (specify in a post) and the option to make our own.

I will be playing the Exarch, due to leadership and the fact that Exarchs have little ability to truly grow as a character.

And so, that is all I can think to say ATM... let the invites begin!

    COMBAT

During all direct combat scenarios and actions against the enemy will have overall structure from me but the details will be up to the players (i.e. I'll write something like "you can kill three guys, or two and strike at the mini boss" or the such, and allow the player to improvise how he kills them). If players would like to take some sort of direct action not offered, simply run it by me in I'll give you the possible results of that action.

Mooks (Untitled enemies) Are able to be killed to the number given. Titled enemies, {Elites ; Minibosses ; Bosses ; Megabosses} Are all enemies that you must post strikes for, rather than outright killing them. Your characters can also take wounds. Wounds will work with light, medium and heavy.

Light wounds are superficial, they won't affect a character's ability, but the player must acknowledge that they occur during the post. Players may also have the liberty of doing this on their own, though during some situations I will require this to happen to characters. Medium wounds will affect the combat capability of a character, either through a disability that prevents using certain equipment or just a decrease in effectiveness. Heavy wounds completely incapacitates the character; he becomes vulnerable to an execution move by an enemy if not aided by a comrade.

    • LIGHT- Doesn't really affect you. From minor paint scratches to shallow cuts and bullet grazes, stuff like that make a Light wound. You can take these in your combat post if you wish. May or may not make later wounds easier to take/more severe. When I give them to you, you must emote (write them out) them in your post, and they must fit the situation that gave you the wound
    • MEDIUM- Affects your combat capabilities in some way. There are 3 terms I sometimes use. Given during my posts, and must be emoted in the same way as Lights.

    1. Light-Medium means that it isn't really bad. Perhaps crushed chest armor (makes chest more vulnerable)
    2. Medium is the base. From crushed armor to a severed limb, most anything goes. Middle of the road may be a cut leg muscle that makes you slower to move.
    3. Medium-Heavy Are bad. Severed limbs are the topmost example.

    • HEAVY- Wounds that severely damage your character to the point that it hurts too much to move, or is just completely impossible. These are allocated and emoted by me, so you needn't worry about having to be fair with these. Executions can happen if you aren't rescued (either by all enemies around you getting killed or wrapped up in combat, someone dragging you to safety, or someone shielding you with their body.

Gambits are high-risk, high-reward maneuvers that can turn the tide of battle if successful, or seriously hinder you is they don't work.

I'm voting Dark Reapers or Scorpions, knowing that my favourite Aspect isn't gonna win but trying anyway :p

I am just glad that Dire Avengers & Fire Dragons aren't winning. They are all fun and stuff, but I am not too fond of Meltas & Shuriken-Sword mix ^^ That said, I would play anything Eldarine :X

Damn, missed the "multiple votes are allowed".

Not to be a Negative Nancy but I just have some questions :) Consider me at this point to have joined enough roleplays that I invested in only to end up failing hard and fast, ie Exodites, Aida's roleplay, heck I even came in only at the end of the legend that was Shady's epic game. So I am a bit wary of making a character that ends up orphaned again; I have a stack of them already.

    BUT.

I do have a "space" in my roster due to a game ending recently, and I am at a point where I hope to ease back into the games I'm already committed to as I come back from my break. :)

And as everyone knows, I am passionate about my Eldar. I really, really would like to play in a game that lets me explore their culture. It has to honestly be that though, not another Exodite High School: Hot for Teacher debacle.

Could I possibly have some more details on what sort of game will it be? Is it going to be mostly combat (not that that would be wrong, given that you know, soldiers) but I honestly don't enjoy combat-focussed RPs. I feel that I either suck at them or I'm frankly bored shitless by posting "attack ... parry enemies ... shoot enemies ... protect friends" eighteen different ways and wracking my brains for another course of action other than the obvious "attack, parry, dodge". This is plainly an issue with me and not roleplaying however as lots of you find interesting and fun ways to do this! I just did it for 5 years online already and I'm tapped out. That problem is mine, not roleplay's.

    So ... my questions are:
    • how much combat?
    • what kind of combat?
    • will we have to assign our own wounds (I really dislike this)?
Things I would need to enjoy this, a personal list (my list does not need to be your list): :p

    • Given that the focus is on romance, at least let's have a proper separation of Aspect self and non-Aspect self - no hearts and flowers crap while under the 'War Mask' - done right, this could be really interesting, yes even for me
    • no Humans in Eldar suits, you gotta be a Space Elf, damn it
    • Exarchs are a big deal - we do not aspire to become an Exarch, that means getting stuck on the Path, and this is a scary prospect and a tragedy, even while they lead in war and are needed.
    • At least minimum adherence to lore for the sake of feel, ie no "the Farseer's girlfriend".
    • Slaanesh is taken seriously, he is the Dark Prince of Excess, not "ooh sex is fun teehee aren't I naughty I like SEX"
    • Read a damn' Codex Velos :p (this may be considered to be my Carthago delenda est).
@BadDo9 do you still want a miserable old curmudgeon like me / think I can fit in? :D

One day Uriel in the future, you might be stuck somewhere with the only thing to read being a warhammer 40k codex.

Maybe on a bus waiting to reach a destination, or a plane. Or on a train or over here or over there. But you may possibly be tempted to read it.

I'm going to cunningly disguise a Codex as a recipe for Schnitzel.

Alsooooo. I don't take a bus, they are horrible here in the US of A. Trains are even worse basically stopping nowhere. And Plane. Well I don't have a codex to take along for a flight :p

I am not even sure how that would work!
