much appreciated ! at least this "until the developers say I can." gives hope that something is under way
Lets hope that is the case. Either way, the devs could and in fact should elaborate on this. This is the hype material for the most HC wh40k lore fanboyz. Give them something to chew upon.
@Valrak could you plz tag him to this thread, maybe people will throw some interesting ideas here that he might find useful? I would love to see secondary objectives in the campaign being pre-set story driven, and the main goal to be player determined. BTW lets start idea for Arkhona's lore series going on down here.
I think the biggest headscratch I have is the Imperial Fist. Much as I love the lugs, they aren't known much for straying far from Terra in M41. I can tell ya why in a meta sense they were chosen (recognizable and thanks to splinter chapters, they could lead to awesome Imperium hero classes) but what reason does the Fist have to show up here beyond 'Iron Warriors?!? Here?!? FIST EM!'
That is fair point. Also to throw few more coins into it, I would like to see the EC dev team coming up with some really fleshed out secondary characters. Secondary to those of Abaddon and Belial sort. Creating such characters would allow them to dispose of them if needed in any way necessary, since I highly doubt that the Arkhona conflict will in any way impact the main faction leaders, we could at least have a developing story of those secondary characters.
I would like them to develop some story upon locations. By that I mean some actual reason to fight over certain maps. Lets look at Olipsis (by far my favorite map): - it is a refinery - it has several wrecks of rhino-like vehicles and Astartes corpses - it is located by the see - it has lets say standard template gothic wh40k humanity style architecture. It is not enough to make it a convincing reason to fight over it. It would be on a tabletop tournament when you set up a terrain out of prefabricated bits to fight over with miniatures against an opponent that has been randomly assigned to you. No this is not the case here. - Why would eldar fight over it with chaos? - what is the significance of this place to factions? - Where is it located in general scope of continent wide map? I need answers to those questions and more to have my game experience improved and made deeper. Dev need to provide us with at least placeholder map that will show us the locations and their strategic significance in the war over Arkhona.
It is so damn funny... You need to search for infos about storyline and background in net couse you can`t get it from game. Another important feature this game lacks... Some serious intro video... it don`t have to be as great as those from DoW series. Just some damn story. I suppose most of new players that bough it recently don`t have idea what even world name is...
