Are there any plans to nerf the Stalker Bolter?

    Melee system is very much the issue. The system as it is now, stalker bolter aside, leaves a tactical marine some chance to get out of a melee alive, if the guy meleeing is just spamming quick attacks. If the melee guy knows what they are doing, the ranged one dies in 2 to 3 hits no less. The only way you could balance the system is by removing weapon breaking, and returning the shot delay. Its either that or the current system, where Ranged classes get to defend themselves with their primary weapon, provided the melee guy allows them to get the distance. And don't even try to start with "yeah but melee has to close the distance" we are talking about people with jump packs, that can come crashing down for a Stun out of nowhere, or have near impenetrable shields to hide behind.

    Now the issue with the Stalker bolter is the fact that its carried by a Tactical and not by a Devastator.. meaning all the mobility of a Tactical, including dodge, and access to a combat knife to defend themselves in melee. Its way to much damage for its mobility.

    Dunno when you played last before 1.3... but when i played before 1.3 all i've been seeing is people running into a room of people and spamming quick attacks, because all the points are indoors in narrow areas. Thanks to 1.3 now that actually isn't a cheese fest anymore.. and instead you can actually take down these Leeroy Jenkins wanna-bes before they down 3 people, because they are just randomly spamming all over the place with their huge-A melee lunges.

    So no... as far as i am concerned 1.3 made this game playable (or rather bearable), because it limited the kamikazi Melee guys. And since 1.3 i've seen enough people going with 40+ kills out of the match by playing Powerfist/-klaw assaults all match long...

    My own experience is that a good melee player will own me in a Melee with my Tactical Classes... while the crappy melee players, that just spam quick attack get stunned... and then afford me to get the distance necessary to kill them with a weapon i can actually win with... unlike my Combat knife that breaks after the 2nd clang and then leaves me defenseless. And against people of equal skill in terms of the RPS mechanics.. i still lose, because sooner or later i either end up being stunned or my weapon breaks. So i really don't see any of this "Oh melee is dead". As far as i am concerned "melee isn't dead" ... melee actually needs more than Quick attack spamming to be successful now. And each time i hear someone QQ about how its dead, i cannot stop but wonder if these people are the same Leeroy Jenkins people that want to run into a room full of people and lunge quickattacking through the room, killing people left right and center, because nobody can do anything about it, since their own melee defenders just hit allies and the ranged can't shoot for the very same reason.

    So i am sorry.. but for me personally 1.3 fixed the melee system. Now all they need to do is get some proper reason to use a chainsword over a powerfist other than loadout points, and we are good.
  3. I'm not arguing not using your pistol in combination with you ranged weapon.

    I'm saying why have a melee loadout at all. Its worthless. That's where we disagree. That's where you're wrong and refuse to give any solid points on. I've been playing since we had one map and just bolters on it. The game has never been this unbalanced.

    Look around in the game. How many people run melee loadouts anymore? Look at the raw dps of the ranged weapons. Look at the video.

    "Melee weapons are better in melee but not all the time" LOL WHAT.

    "Ranged is better for ranged combat and melee for melee."

    Clearly melee is not better than ranged at melee. Ahem. Look at the melee distance and time to kill with this weapon.

    Stalker bolter is just the tip of the iceburg, but seriously, you had me laughing. Your quotes need to be on t-shirts.

    Should be as you only hear 4 shots but only burst wepon like that is quick silver. ( using brsut with normal bolter is useless and i dbout people useit)
  6. That isn't the stalker bolter in the video, it is the quicksilver bolter, a burst variant that has a muzzle brake and a 2x scope. Makes your "summary", completely bogus.

    Now now brother this is WH40K the only people allowed to give hugs are papa nurgle, angry marines, khrone berserks or black Templars.
