It's not just the health. The devs totally trashed almost all of our melee weapons. Our wargear options tend to increase toughness and in this meta that is completely pointless. We have massive heads getting blown apart and even if we take less damage it totally fucks our aim so we can't fight back. Our backs are pathetically weak and vulnerable. No, it will just hide other, glaring issues.
I think it had more to do with bringing the power attack speed in line with other faction than the small nerf to HP. Previous to last patch orks were basically impossible to fight reliably in melee, you either had to surprise them, or fight someone unaware of the power attack exploit. After patch, they're in the unfortunate position of being an army lacking some overpowered tools (melta, plasma cannon), and having a big portion of the playerbase needing to learn to play again without the power attack crutch. First day after patch the quantity of ork players I met trying power attack spam and getting hard countered by simple RMB spam was disheartening.
What happened to the melee weapons? I haven't played as Orks for about 2 patches and they seemed fine then and last patch their heavy attack was pretty hard to deal with. And aren't everyones backs really weak, one or two hits and I am dead no matter who I play as. (except for an jump pack assault,)
well getting out shot against marines at close range has become more of a thing, since the armour increase. shooting at long range you get beat most time as well. Melee like they say power swords win Klaw is useless AV is useless even a rokkit launcher with paired stikky bombs leaves me unable to kill a tank after having to work closer to it still takes too long. (and that is a big chunk of load out 500+ with the reductions from advancements. so yeah Orks are feeling very weak atm went from winning about 50-60% to loosing about 80% of matches.
No we are not, but it has nothing to do with the hp changes. Try to create an ork character and fight someone in close quarter. You will see. It's not the last changes they made. It's many other things. Eternal Crusade is all about melee, ranged weapons are just a nice extra. And we suck in melee because our-bash does not work. It's too slow to avoid most of Fast Attacks, and even when it hits it often does not stun. LSM, CSM and Eldars should stop their "GG" "Git Gud" bullshit: harsh reality is we are cut off the RPS melee system. And it's ridiculous because we are supposed to be ugly beasts of close quarter combat. The only thing that made us counterbalance this was our Choppa strong attack, but that was a bug it has been fixed (as it should, of course). Right now if I can ambush a target I go for melee, otherwise I do not even try. We lack AV options. We have some, but none is close to Melta. Hopefully incoming Melta nerf will make this less painful. So far there is no way we can rely on our vehicles. Plasma. The ultimate weapon for noobs. No need to say anything else. You can clearly see result in the game: our enemies just play Swords, Plasma, Melta. This is the holy trinity and it belongs to everyone but Orks. Then last but not least: WAAAAGH is not a special power: it's a penalty. In those maps where we have to defend as WAAAAGH kicks in our tickets drop at the speed of light. This is a macroscopic game design mistake: whoever invented a special skill that prevents from being revived in a game where every death matters should consider to do another job. Besides this, sometimes it triggers just a few seconds before the battle is lost. Call it bug but it feels like a joke.
And dont forget heal bombs when they disappear because or destroyed or redeployed cause massive screen shakes ruining the aim and giving headaches specially in siege maps, ofc lamarines dont have this issue with the apo heal thing.
I dunno we were playing Orks today. I was shooting one right in the face, he just keep coming at me. I got like 4 shots advantage, he started shooting without slowing down. 3 shots and I'm down. He didn't even slow down. I think Orks are ok.
I love how Orkz were winning every match against LSM because we were in a bad state, and now that we are fighting back they hate it. Yes i think the change of HP and Headshoot multiplier was bad, i mean i preferible always shoot to the head, Axes are still op and yes power sword always beat everything...Since launch i used them and i need to land 2 hits to kill an Orc....... BUT with my rank 3 traitor assault...... i one shot Orkz with my mastercraftchainsword, YES IDK WHAT I DID OR WHAT ADVANCEMENT I HAVE IN THE CSM i one shot orcs with my mastercraftchainsword, now if i try that in my Sanguinary Priest or my Jump Assault, 2 or 3 hits to kill them, so idk maybe is the mods or some advancement that i dont know or maybe those orks were just BAD (i use HA). Still heavy attack spam with Axe is obnoxious and orkz are really good with some weapons, the Zzap its really good, so maybe you dont know what weapons are good, right now is not "i will use everything because everything kill hummies and pointyears" now you need to use the head, something that LSM was missing almost 2-3 weeks until we started to make our "Meta", thats why when we recieved the armor upgrade it was actually a buff for a few people that were already good with the tacticals. Now for the other factions: -Witchblade is op so try to not fight the witch 1 vs 1- -Raptors will always win the same as above PLAY IN TEAM, i got stomped by Orks in this patch when they are playing together in team, ecause Orks are suposedly to be that way they are a Horde and as a Horde they need to play, not lonely Heroes, you have the same problem as LSM, they are more focused in team play, you as an Ork you need to be fighting more in Big Groups focusing one target. If you are more of a lonely wolf, go and play Eldar or Even Chaos, i know you will enjoy the Sweeping Hawk and the Traitor assault
Anecdotal evidence, but for me it's also going from around a 60% win rate to perhaps a 70% loss rate. Oddly enough shooting feels like the only thing that sort of works for orks now, they are just too slow in melee and dbash doesn't seem to work properly. Then on the other hand shooting with orks isn't really all the that efficient because of the poor accuracy, and their vehicles die super fast while they don't have anything like meltas to deal with enemy vehicles in return. Super stikkbombs are really buggy and often land on the ground, doing no dmg to the enemy vehicle you thought you were applying it to. To top it off the heal grenade for orks disappears almost as soon as it lands because of accidental hits. First off super stikkbombs need to be fixed to they work like meltabombs. OR just give them an aoe that deals full dmg to vehicle so that the bug doesn't matter as much. And perhaps if they upped the damage of rokkits against vehicles? Basically, a marine with a meltabomb and a meltagun needs... how many seconds to blow up an enemy Predator? Definitely not more than 10 at least. An ork with super stikkbombs and a rokkit should be able to take out an enemy Pred in a similar time span. A bit slower due to the rokkit having range perhaps, but not much more since the rokkit needs to charge and I at least lose the charge all the time if someone shoots at me. That basically similar to having the meltabeam stop if someone shoots at the marine.
they simply fix the power attack being so fast and it hurt their melee crutch by being just has fast has the CSM and SM. The other thing is that ork lack any power weapon toaid them in battle.
