Any Altansarian Brothers And Sisters Out There?

Well, before the new fluff in the 5E codices a craftworld´s destruction was considered a huge thing, iirc the only mentioned one was the one in the 4E demons dex where a favored KoS had to jump through a ton of hoops to do that, so in that context a new craftworld was probably considered big enough. Maybe it would look a fair bit more impressive if it weren´t for Idharae, Malantai and all the rest.

(and I just learned DoM isn´t even in the Nid Codex anymore. Seriously, talk about a frakking waste).

  2. As a fellow fan of Altansar, I will most assuredly play them - presuming they will be our fifth sub-faction.

I would think that Altansar would be a good chance for the developers to get really creative and add a great deal of really cool, unique customisation options for Altansari Eldar. They only speak in whispers and they don't remove their helms - surely it is more than feasible to think that they have some other, more aesthetic differences from most Craftworld Eldar?

I once again post this picture I found of an Altansari Warlock, which I very much like:

This gives a good idea of what I mean: really strange and unique, yet still identifiable as Eldar. Probably will never happen, but a Farseer is allowed to dream.

    Eldrad: Hey.

    Fulgrim: Shut up.

    Eldrad: Hey, Fulgrim.

    Fulgrim: Go away.

Eldrad: Remember that warning I gave you on that Maiden World that one time? Yeah, that sure was swell.

    Fulgrim: Shut. Up.

Eldrad: You'd think the Phoenician, the Lord of the Emperor's Children himself would to take a hint.

    Fulgrim: I'm warning you.

Eldrad: Funny how things worked out, eh?

Fulgrim: Don't think I like your sass, Xeno.

Eldrad: So I guess what I'm saying here, is -

    Fulgrim: DON'T YOU EVEN DAR-

    Eldrad: I TOLD YOU SO.

    Fulgrim: GGRRAAAAAAHH

If i remember correctly didnt Eldrad go missing after going on to a prefall Eldar planet killer space station, which then vanished
  5. No, Eldrad was taken by suprise by She Who Thirsts herself when boarding a Talisman of Vaul during the 13th Black Crusade - but now that said Crusade has suffered from such extensive retconning, whether he lives is uncertain.

ah I guess a big name like him going for a prize that would make his craftworld kick ass would draw some attention

I think now he's fine but slowly crystallising.

In the reports and fluff pieces made after the Eye of Terror, and I think this made it into the 4E eldar codex. Basically around the climax of the War Eldrad led a crack team that had to infiltrate and disable one of Abbadon's Fortresses, which was laying waste to Cadia. IIRC the whole thing was like a psychic inferno and Eldrad was the only one making it to the control node. He tried to wrest control of it and it did not go well.

As far as I can tell, the below is from the official publication at the end of the campaign (taken from here in case anyone wants to check the rest):

The Farseer Eldrad Ulthran, most gifted Eldar prophet found that the twisting forests of possibilities through which he walked at will were denied to him, blinding his exceptional scrying abilities. His one certainty was that darkness stood ready to engulf him ana possibly even his homeworld. At the formation of the Ulthwe Strike Forces Eldrad divided many parts of his consciousness into shimmering waystones and. after many weeks of guiding his troops through the webway. he was exhausted and spent when he was last seen by the Eldar of Ulthwe. He appointed a controversial member of the Seer Council as his successor before departing with his Warlock bodyguard on a desperate last quest, to rescue the soul of one of the legendary Talismans of VauI before it turned the surface of Cadia into a boiling, incandescent sea.
