    Hello my faithful subjects ;)

My name is Michael. I'm 30 (well 31 in just over a month =.= ) and come from Poland. I have close to 20 years of experience with the wargaming hobby (mostly Warhammer 40k and Warhammer Fantasy, but also Warzone, Infinity, Warhachine and many others) and also Roleplaying and computer games.
Hobby wise (aside from the obvious stuff mentioned above): martial arts (brazilian ju-jitsu, Krav Maga, Combat 56, Aikido, Kendo, Iaido), military, history, psychology, historical reconstructions and reenactments (historical fencing, swordplay, archery and many others), music, books (reading and writing), drawing, painting, movies (making and watching).

Occupation wise: Teacher and counselor (both personal and business). Also freelance illustrator / concept artist and model painter.

    Love gaming, Love 40k,.. that's why I'm here :)

    Cheers to all :)

    Welcome to EC.

Damn that's a huge list of Hobbies. Do you actively practice all those martial arts? A day has only 24h. :p

Well I did untill recently. At the start of the year I have suffered a serious accident and have undergone a series of surgeries. The next one is scheduled for February and it should be the last one (I hope... ). After that, rehab, but I will be getting back to training as soon as possible. I have trained kendo and Iaido for about 8 years. Krav Maga and Combat 56 for about 10 years (started back in the army). Aikido and Brazilian Ju-Jitsu about 6 years. The longest running trainings are the Medieval fencing and archery. over 15 years now. True that it's hard to put them all together, but I managed to group the respective styles that are related and train them as a collected "segment". For instance Kendo and Iaido can be trained durring one 3 hour session (2x a week) and you can add elements fo Aikido to make a full complexe system out of it. That's how I do it. Krav-maga, Combat 56 and Brazilian Ju-Jitsu share many techniques so I just combine all the elements into a "combat arts" segment (also 2x a week) and Medieval fencing and archery is the 3rd "segment" trained also 2x a week for 3 hours. (One day each week, I'm lazy as hell tho and don't train anything :p ). The Bonus of it all is that all of these act to improove your general physical fitness and fighting skills, so even if I'm training Kendo or Iaido, I can still use and enchance the skills I got from my medieval fencing. and it works both ways.... but true, 24h a day sometimes seems a tad too little. Especially when you have a girlfirend / wife ^^:

I don't know how you possibly manage to juggle all of that.
I forget simple things like when to take out the garbage.

I guess it all comes out to the persons mentality.
If a person considers an activity to be "fun", then he has no problem in allocating his own free time to do that activity.

In my case things like running on a treadmill feel like they are forced upon, thus they are nothing but "work" and I don't want them to eat up my personal time.

A treadmill and similar stuff are boring as hell :p Training with friends makes it all so much more enjoyable and it just becomes fun. I don't go to the gym. I preffer to get on a mountain bike and go for a nice trip with awesome sights, or just go swimming at a pool or waterpark. Other than that, training is just another way of having fun with friends :)
