If you used your old forum name as your log in name, they probably won't change it. It's very common practice to not allow the log in name to also be a public nickname on the same account, for safety's sake. It was quite clear that the log in name would be private, and that the other two would be public. I do agree that having two public names (especially with one being fairly redundant) was a little confusing at first, though.
Display name seems to change your nick on the account itself, not the forum. No idea why that's a thing, but hey.
i think the display name is what it says on the top of the page for the main site. im pretty sure only you see it.
Why don't we have control over our nicknames why can every other name be changed but not the nickname? What ever send a message to the community manage customer support to have it changed. That link comes up untitled.
I can't even migrate as NOTHING (even a line of random gibberish) I type in is avalible as a Login ID... not impressed Edit ok, well it was a page/view error, but somehow the unique version of my name (Carnage2K4) has been taken.. WTF...
that's an email... what it comes up as entirely depends on your browser. on mine it automatically opens my mail program lol.
