-Killroy A roar came from the gaurdsmen killroy as he was finnaly back up he had turned on his chem inhaler and began firing his hell gun into the waves of cultists quickly taking cover he readied himself as he began firing again. Homes- Homes was next out taking aim with her bolt pistol aiming for heads and taking cover as the cultilists assaulted there postion in her other hand she readied her power maul for a cultist charge.
Crash Site Dead cultists soon began to pile up around them, marking their advance as they heedlessly continued to charge in, some without even having any weapons. Intent on sacrificing themselves to prevent the teams escape, they came upon a massive horde of cultists blocking a reinforced blast door that had been hastily half repaired after something, most likely a rocket, had taken out part of its workings. There was no doubt about it that this was their only path to escape and possible freedom but it would be a tough fight and the number of light wounds they had all received were slowly beginning to take a toll. GM Note: There's around fifty enemy cultists between you and escape, you all have one wound taken and lose all passive buffs dealing with agility. __________________________________________________________________________________ Cathedral Spire Hard to miss where their main objective was, the group made their way through the war torn streets towards the blazing perimeter of the Cathedral. Several times they were forced to backtrack away from roving bands of hostiles, both cultists and maddened citizens alike costing them almost two hours of time before they were even close to the objective. Now, almost six hours after they had first landed, the battered gates of the southern most reaches were visible. Banners of the false regime fluttered from its entrance and a few traitors were looting the mounds of corpses from both sides. It is obvious to all appearances that any survivors have withdrawn further into the compound and that the enemy, for now, has taken the outer gates. The pillared entrance lies a smoking ruin, several statues defaced or utterly destroyed overlooking the stricken plaza littered with barricades and burning vehicles. Sandbagged emplacements to both sides of the entrance reveal heavy bolter emplacements but no one is there to man them other than the corpses of the loyalists who had died to the last man. A bunker to the far left of the main entrance lies broken open and several traitors are seen advancing in but no evidence is seen as to where it might lead.
Crash Site Commissar Rackham Seeing the exit so close should have given the men hope, but seeing that they would have to fight through 50 crazed cultists soured that hope quickly. Rackham quickly changed out his spent plasma cell for a fresh one before yelling, "THEY THINK THEY CAN STOP US! NOW IS THE TIME TO SHOW YOUR TEUE METTLE!" He continued his charge into the horde having renewed his vigor with the sight of the exit close at hand. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cathedral Spire SGT Kroll Keeping a look out as they approached the bunker that the traitors just entered he turned to the group, "It seems that they don't believe reinforcements are coming. We need to take out these traitors as quickly as possible." He lead the group to the opening and cautiously peeked in trying to stay hidden from any enemy attention so he could better plan their next move.
Killroy- Killroy charged with the commisar firing his Hellgun into the hard he could feel his combat drugs taking hold as he charged For the emporer for the emporer "FOR THE EMPORER" he roared feeling its affects as he blasted a cultist away from him Homes- At the commisairs side was homes with one hand she fired into the cultist horde with a bolt pistol and with the other power maul raised would smash into anyone of them that got close
Crash Site, Hallway of Doom The crazed cultists laughed as they died, clawing outwards as they were in turn slaughtered. Too soon it seemed they had died and the entrance way before them opened but something was amist. The corpses surrounding them begin to twitch with new life as dark sorcery worked its way into them. Flesh sloughed off of skeletal remains forming and re-stitching itself to create a hulking monstrosity towering almost eleven meters tall and covered in bloody crimson flesh. Roaring with the power of a hurricane, it knocked them over before charging in a maddened rage in an attempt to slaughter them where they stood. However, fate had smiled down as the force of the scream had sent them on the other side of the doorway which was too small for the beast to enter. Smashing head first into the reinforced entrance way the beast reeled backwards in a daze even as sloughs of metal peeled away from the walls like dead skin. They wouldn't be saved a second time..... ________________________________________________________________________________ Cathedral Spire, Curtain Wall A cry of alarm went out from the gateway as one of the traitors managed to spot them. The cry was quickly met by a sickening chorus of charging mad-men. Dressed in dozens of different uniforms, clerks, guardsmen, hab-workers charged outwards firing looted lasguns and autoguns in their direction in an attempt to prevent them from breaching the captured gatehouse. Two of the more trained guardsmen ran in the opposite direction towards one of the smoking gun emplacements in an effort to turn the heavy bolter around to support the charge.
Hall 'o' Doom Commissar Rackham "We must keep pressing forward! Lest we become like the undead monstrosity that stalks us!" He tossed his concussion grenade through the doorway to further delay the monstrosity's charge. He turned and ran further away from the abomination before the grenade detonated. Rackham began to lead the group of crash survivors in the direction of the Cathedral. The other group had attempted to reach them via vox, but with all the interference he was unable to make out the exact details. All he knew was they had said something about the Planetary Governor. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cathedral Spire, Curtain Wall SGT Kroll Jumping behind the nearest cover, "GET THOSE GUNS UP! MOW DOWN THOSE TRAITORS! WE WILL TEACH THEM TO TURN THEIR BACKS ON THE EMPEROR!" As the two Heavy-Bolters were brought to bear on the charging group he turned his Storm Bolter on the two guardsmen running for the Heavy-Bolter emplacement. "Sergeant Lilian we need to take out those runners or we will be in a world of hurt!" And with that both Sergeants poured shots into the gunners (or attempted to).
-killroy Killroy continued with his commisar with his helgun raised he continued looking for targets that would attack There servant of the emporer. -Homes Homes grabbed one of her kraks and threw it into the door way and kept running with the others along with krolls grenade she kept moving bolt pistol raised ready for something to pop out at them.
Crash Site, Elevator Shaft Reeling backwards as it became blinded in a seething rage, the daemon spawn began to lash out at anything in its vicinity. Cultist and masonry alike was struck down and within moments, the weakened archway came down in an avalanche of debris and metal working effectively blocking the pathway. With a small window now created, the group was able to take stock of their situation. Before them lay an elevator shaft that was currently out of commission. They could either travel down the cables to the lobby almost forty levels below or scale it to the rooftop and the landing bay there almost twenty levels above them. Taking a stairwell was out of the question but who knew where the actual elevator itself was, at any moment it could come crashing down or it could very well already be at the bottom of the shaft... _________________________________________________________________________________ Cathedral Spire, Curtain Wall The charging cultists were no match for the precision hail of las and bolt fire that scythed through their ranks as if they were but wheat before the sickle. Getting no closer than a few meters, the charge was stalemated until the heavy bolter emplacements opened up behind them. Being forced into cover by the heavy guns, the traitors quickly rallied as even more of their brethren charged out from the bunker to join their ranks as they prepared to charge forwards. However, either by fate or the mercy of the God-Emperor, something even more unexpected happened instead. The sound of heavy tank tracks rumbled through the street and before anyone knew it, a store entrance on the far side of the boulevard exploded outwards revealing not one, but two Leman Russes. Painted in the visceral gore of countless victims and flying the bloated skin banners of Nurgle, the twin corrupted beasts began to spit booming volcanoes of fire into the grouped up mass of traitors before swarms of plague zombies and Nurgle cultists swarmed over them. With a small opening now in sight, the group could either disengage and try to find another way in or fight their way through while both enemy forces were distracted.
