oh I know why other people use them .... that doesnt change my personal feelings about them, they are too flimsy and are destroyed way too often ... making spawning one just an easy way to feed the enemy extra XP points anyone and his dog can drive it ... meaning spawning one and finding a good spot to park up as a armoured gun emplacement is always ruined by someone who thinks they know a better spot to park (usually right in front of the enemies heavy weapons teams) the weapons arnt overly effective .... a tac with a storm bolter is more useful then the vehicles and the preds cannon (animation still broken BTW) explosions obstruct vision resulting in the enemy getting away as often as not terrain makes driving them awkward ... with every lamp, bump, tank trap, doorway making driving them more like a slalom then a tank weight physix is still waay off ... making them easy to push out of the way with other vehicles (even lighter ones), prone to flipping into the air like a skateboard etc etc since around the 2nd alpha map (small black bolt domination) I've just stuck to running in from the spawn points when I respawn ... on the current map I wont even spawn in from B while the LSM are still trying to take A since I've found there are more and more players who have figured out where the usual spawn areas are and seem to take glee in looping around to shoot people as they spawn in, I'd rather spend an extra minute running in then getting ganked before I even know theres an enemy nearby and having to respawn again
Its hard to test things when one side is more coordinated, the current set up isnt optimized for your enjoyment
