Greetings, It is I, Matthias Kane. I was introduced to Warhammer 40k in the winter of 1988/89. Playing small skirmishes during school lunches in my Freshman year of High School. My first army was small but respectable chapter of Space Marines called The Lightning Riders. From there I branched out into Eldar forces including Harlequins. (They were always destroying my marines) While my friends went over to the Orcs and Chaos. At one time my armies were too numerous to count. (or I was too lazy to count) Our battles grew. Our skill at modeling and designing terrain grew. Our battles began to look like the ones in the books. (at least to my friends and I) I'm well into my 40's now and I'm very excited to be a part of the Alph testing. I have high hopes that this game will be a fitting testament to the epic world Games Workshop created almost 30 years ago. My friends are all waiting to see what will become of it. I hope that the developers will listen to people like us. (I know, wishful thinking)
They do listen quite often actually. Just make sure that you get heared (by being on Discord or on Twitch on Fridays,..). Welcome to the game and the community by the way!
The dev team interacts to an incredible degree with the community via weekly twitch streams, monthly-ish newsletters, and directly via the forums. While I admire them, if I ran a studio I would definitely not communicate this much. People are practically asking for development team staff shift schedules, daily work order updates, and personal cell phone #'s lol.
hahaha im brand new to 40k practicly, but welcome, it will take time to get used to this game perhaps but perserviere the fundation is good there just smoothing out lumps! the devs listen most defintly and help often, but beware if you face them in combat on the servers!
