If you don`t know people are playing game to enjoy. OP weapons and characters are used couse of it. Your logic says balancing complains are stupid couse we shold complain about people using OP weapons. Your logic says that if I have to dig a hole in the ground for planting I should use my hands for feeling I had accomplished something. Well... I would prefer shovel for this. If we have some job to do we are always using best available tool for it. That is why we are arming soldiers with guns not swords and shields for being satisfied with "accomplishments". Devs should know this and to remove/nerf OP weapons.
The "youtube nobodies" comment made it seem like that. Misunderstanding there. Yet you often enough had a go at people because they disagreed with you on EC. Well it's what I do for fun, also it's how you get into conversations. It's not ignorant, maybe it's being a jerk, what I'll admit to be. But don't worry, I've gotten on someones nerves so I'll just poof again So you never said anything along the lines of "stop complaining stuff will come in future"? It's a L4D style game yes, but if you're honest the co-op aspect is quite different in a lot of mechanics from what we can tell so far.
Not exactly. What I don't like is the pointless, negative threads that are repeating the same thing over and over and over and over. If someone has an opinion on the game they are entitled to it, but if they say something like; "Gameplay is awful and clunky" I'm entitled to put forward why I disagree. I almost certainly said "stop complaining". But that's more because I find constant complaining pathetic and irritating. Surely it makes no difference? If it's good enough for EC it's good enough for Deathwing, which is what I've said. Hmm no I think the mechanics look virtually identical to L4D. I might not know all there is to know though. What's drastically different?
Firstly the game will be much slower paced and tactical. You can take different routes to a much bigger extent, you should even be forced by the nids to take different routes because of how the AI works. Being able to block routes yourself and force the AI to take a different approach. Classes/loadouts with distinct roles instead of pick up weapons with melee being a main feature rather than a retreat and something people fuck around with. Skills. Giving orders to AI squadmates. Progression system. The damage system for the Termies. Those are the main ones that come to my mind right now. So I certainly wouldn't call it a watered down L4D clone. Obviously I can't judge how well all that works because I haven't played it but that's what it is on paper. As for the lack of PvP you gotta consider who made L4D 1/2 and who makes Deathwing. StreumOn was basically a modding group prior to this game.
And all of the negative reviews pouring in from new players, enough to quickly take down that short lived "mostly positive" rating on Steam after the "campaign" asking people to spam the store page with positive reviews and delete their negative reviews regardless of how they felt. Are those people "nobodies" too? At some point, you can't ignore the deafening chorus by jamming your fingers in your ears.
The short answer is; yes they are nobodies. Especially in so far as my opinion goes. Not sure why you brought up that other thread, seems totally irrelevant to this discussion. I don't care if 1, 100 or 1,000,000 people think that EC is the worst game ever made, if I enjoy it (and I do, I enjoy it quite a bit) that's my opinion. I'm not some sheep who's going to be led to believe whatever the chorus of others want me to believe. If they have relevant criticisms then I'll listen and respond with my thoughts, contrary to popular belief I've been critical of the game myself. What I won't do is sit and listen to ceaseless, morose whining though. I have better things to do with my time.
The problem is BHVR and Bandai-Namco aren't making Eternal Crusade just for a handful of people and they need an active playerbase to make money, not just people popping in out of curiosity. So those "nobodies" actually DO count, whether you like it or not.
EC barely reached 1.500 players at a time over the weekend, even after the patch when you previously usually saw a significant increase. I don't know about you but for me that isn't really a healthy playerbase if you consider BHVRs plans for the game.
