Your thoughts on Veteran Space Marine Halos?

    Hi guys, just wondering what are your opinions about the rank 5 specialised Halos for each of the Space Marines Veteran classes. I only got the halo for the Veteran Assault ground and it is a HUGE LP of 740 points...I cannot exactly create very powerful loadouts with the specialised Halo but I got the Iron Halo War gear instead and could do better technically speaking loadouts.

    Just wondering how other people feel about the veteran class halos? Do we need to change anything... feels a bit funny to me but let me know what you think, thanks.

    To me the only one that is really worth it is the devs halo due to the increase in toughness that it gives. Sadly with it I can only have relic armor and my heavy bolter but damn does it make you close to bullet proof. Other than that the LP costs do feel a tad too high for what they do. Maybe a 100 LP reduction and we would see more of them.

    i use the standard iron halo which you can put on any veteran class, that gives +70 armour.

    it only costs 490EP so you can put relic armor, a seal of solidarity and still take a chainsword and a shield.

    i think they should make it possible to take it on any class once you unlock it in your standard slot.

    Wolf Priest one is simply a no go. 730 Lp. This means you have to pick between the basic healing beacon or take an improved healing vial.

    You cannot adjust weapons etc.

    If I remember fitting just the Halo leaves you with 170 LP to customize, Utility, Healing, Pistol, Melee and other wargear.

    Even just add an extra rank and put Halo reduction for veteran/elite classes as another trait.

    LP costs do feel a tad too high for Veteran Space Marine Halos !!!!

    TBH, most items and their loadoutpoints feels out of place. Too little gain for too high cost. Revamp didn't help either.

    I haven't even bothered to buy them, the class ones are terrible. I really like the plain gold one though.

    This is true. And generally that's not a good thing.

    On the other hand I have found it useful in some occasions. It's situational, but in the right place and the right time acting as bait to draw opponents into OBVIOUS TRAPS works quite well. It's amazing how many players will throw all sense out the window just to down a Veteran. If that Veteran is a good player and supported by teammates, being a shiny agro-magnet can be rewarding.

    On the whole, I'd rather use the standard Halo. I would urge New Players building out their advancement trees to avoid wasting Advancement Points on Class specific Halos, until you have filled advancements for every class you play normally. You only get one Veteran per match and that experience is usually a very short one, the first few times.

    TL;DR: Class Specific Halos should probably be the very last thing a new player ever buys on the advancement tree. Fill everything else first.
