(real death in DnD 3.5e) a strange serpent has slithering away into the forest so the party followed it and came to a large acid pool with lots of the same serpent type, red carapace, black flesh and lots of teeth. the serpents were slithering in and not coming out. (this turned out later to be a tyranid based campaign) I recognized it as a description of a digestion pool with rippers going in OOC but I couldn't do anything about it. My dwarven cleric cast flame strike on the whole thing and did the thing he usually does, he charged. Then a tyranid warrior peeked its head out of the brush and decided that the dwarf with the giant hammer had to go and shot me with a venom cannon and critted and one shot me. In the grim dark future, there is only war. The planet of Ashvan Primus is no different. The entirety of a once mighty chapter was hammered into the single space of a mighty fortress, however even with it's might and incredible offensive power. The hordes of tyranids were endless, Hierophants towering in the distance. Fearless space marines offering themselves for the survival of others, selfless offerings to the Emperor himself. Desperately from the top of the fortress Cairus, a veteran of the battlefield which is the entirety of the galaxy. Ranking up an entire 1450 years on his own, however this would seem to be the end of him. The forces which were at his dispocal are deminishing and the gates protecting him keep repeating the same bashing sound. ''Brothers. Let our glorious stand be one for legends, Glyocus, ready your heavy bolter, Tyndrid..'' Cairus stopped and reached out for the shoulder of his brother in battle. ''May your chainsword give us strenght in this defeat.'' Tyndrid simply nodded, his winged helmet displayed that he was of importance in the Dark Angels ranks. Suddenly, dots began to disapear from the tactical holograph which Cairus used to view the progression of the battlefield and it was being overwhelmed by red dots. ''Brace yourselves, brothers!'' He shouted, and as sudden as a thunder bolt the Tyranids had smashed down the gate, the heavy bolter began firing it's 98mm rounds into the fray of the unending tyranid horde. The Final Stand of Legends would take place during four entire night's, the final weapon of use would be their very own fists, Cairus was the last to fall, ordering an exterminatus upon the planet to the Inquisition orbiting. Whilst being eated by the tyranids he talked with the inquisitor. ''My chapter is in oblivion and I stand at it's door, damn these xeno terrors to my new home in death and give me a secound chance to clean this taint from the Emperors cloak.'' Sound of struggle could be heard from his voice, he fired his bolter into the very end, even whilst being nommed by the tyranid horde he fired his bolter in the heads of uncountable amounts of xeno scum. The roof of the building he was in was completely obliterated, so he could look up to the sky and see the end of his killers. The single case of unending energy that would split this planet int two and crack it open, the devestating round was before his eyes, mere meters before him, and just before it would impact he spoke up. ''The Emperor Protects..'' and everything before him, and himself turned into white oblivion and everything he'd once knew, was gone.
