Not even close, the falcon is a freaking tank, with some transport capabilities, the vyper is a light vehicle...
Falcon armament is more along the line of a IFV, its AT capability is comparable to a Predator with autocannon at best. We had Falcon serve as an APC in DoW1, why can't it do the same in EC? If a Falcon is too hardcore for you, then Eldar has another light vehicle, the Hornet.
Like I said, they don't need to be identical in term of spec, as long as they can serve the same role. Numbers of seat aside, the Hornet is more akin to the Land Speeder than the Vyper, both can only cover 180 degree in front of them, while the Vyper is a better gun platform with 360 degree view.
The Falcon isn't a "light vehicle", it's heavy support. It's a Fire Prism that is downgunned to make room for a few passengers. The Wave Serpent is the Eldar APC. Which by the way is their Rhino equivalent, most definitely not a bike. The Falcon is kind of similar to the Chimera Assault Tank variant (the one with the autocannon).
Have any of you actually read my post? Like I said, as long as they can do the same thing, it doesn't matter, Falcon isn't as heavy as Predator, then why can't we have them as an answer to Land Speeder, both boast the similar mobility and firepower, only their armor are different, then just make Falcon to be more expensive and require more crews, then there you go. Or we can have the Hornet, they basically do the same thing as Land Speeder, just with 1 person, then we just balance them the same way. Why does every vehicle have to be the same for all factions? This is not Planetside 2, and that's what make Planetside 2 factions boring to begin with.
Before you go claiming a vehicle can be "an equivalent" of another vehicle, you have to understand what that vehicle is and what role it fills. The Falcon is more like a Razorback than a Land Speeder. It carries 6 guys (like the Razorback), has the same statline as the transport it's based on (Rhino/Wave Serpent), but has access to a heavier gun (like the Razorback). Of course it's not identical to the Razorback, it has more armor and it can hover. But it fills the Razorback's role, not the Land Speeder's. You don't just slap vehicles in randomly without understanding what those vehicles do.
Because they can't do the same thing. The Vyper has a gun turret with 360˚ of motion and a dedicated gunner. It's ideal for strafing attacks where the vehicle can go at full speed past a convoy while the gunner can still pinpoint and destroy targets easily. Even on the run, the Vyper will still have a huge advantage since it can target pursuers at full effectiveness while still fleeing at full speed. None of the bikes or the hornet have this capability - they all have a single attack vector from the front and will have zero flanking/kiting ability. Part of the reason we're so resistant to this is because these differences are comparable to other games out there already, and the balance implications are huge. In Planetside, the Harasser is one of the most powerful vehicles in the game, not because it has better armament than the tanks and APCs, but because it has a dedicated gunner with 360 degrees of attack range and is thus perfect for flanking and kiting armored columns. Or the Warthog, in Halo, when compared to the tiny Mongoose or the scorpion tank. Imagine if either of those vehicles had only been available to pre-order players?
No factions in W40K has the same vehicles as each others. And I guarantee you, Vyper will never have the same mobility in lore, it may hover and strafe, but that's all, founders or not. If we stayed true to the lore, then all Eldar tanks would outrun and outmaneuver every vehicles in other factions. Not to mention they can fly too. According to the lore, the Falcon and every Grav tanks is super fast and can fly, they're in and then out in a split second, so in a sense, they perform the same way as the Land Speerder. That's why we need balancing. And like I said, Eldar has another light vehicle aside from Vyper, the Hornet, which can be added in the game for the non-founders. Hornet in terms of role and firepower is more along the like of the Land Speeder, a quick strafe and run vehicle with 180 degree of fire.
I think every1 should take a look at this. below is a picture of the mongoose from halo 3. Yes, I am aware the 40k version is gona have a heavyer hiting gun attached but we all remember how easy it is to flip and destroy these things. remember also that this vehical combination is open top and head shots are very viable against its crew not moving fast enough to keep alive (makes firing the main gun more challenging). large difference from a heavy armoured tank transport if you ask me, but not necessarily p2w or unfair.
