Arguably, this game will not be able to be "the 40k we know" by the fallacy that it is a game. I don't know whether you noticed the Space Marine with the (very weird looking) Thunder Hammer in the intro, that he should not be able to carry unless he had a white painted helmet - which he didn't. Perhaps you also noticed that there'll apparently be tons of Apothecaries and Warlocks running around, despite the fact that it's against the lore.

From what we know the devs won't put such restrictions on people, almost everyone will have access to wargear they wouldn't easily have access to if the game was a perfect representation of the lore. So why draw the line at Aspect Warrior equipment?

This game is meant to please both 40k fans and people as of yet largely unfamiliar with the setting. Some lines have to be drawn, but I don't agree that this is one of the instances to do it.

fusion gun(firepike looks too long), spinneret rifle and the Maugetar.
would love to know how Spinneret rifle looks like. hopefully not too bulky and more rifle looking than the deathspinners.

I just love the fluff and TT capabilities of the Diresword, without a doubt my favorite weapon in the eldar arsenal it's a sword that eats souls. For ranged weapons i would have too go for.. yeah probly the Mugatar or whatever it is called, Muagan Ra's shurican cannon, it looks awesome. I like Pheonix Lords alot...

I'm in the boat though that I hope exarch weapons are upgrades as it just wouldn't make sense or be as cool to me if they are sidegrades. Though they keep talking about loadout points, so I am betting the exarch gear will be better but cost more points naturally so your going in with less gear.

  5. I think we all hope that we can get "upgrades" and not just "sidegrades". Hope there is a reward system in place, such as rank, experience, what have ya, to were a veteran player can earn a little extra over a brand new player and maybe even something to seperate themselves from other veteran players. Terminator honors, Laurels, Iron cross, and other known honours in the game brought into this one. Only as in the case of this thread, the Eldar equivalent ;-)

Not counting delicious Striking Scorpion melee weapons, kiss of death. DOOMguy approves of the overkill.

It's called Harlequin's Kiss. I love that weapon, but hate how underpowered it is in the TT. I mean a single touch of the thing results in a bunch of monofilament wires turning the enemy's body into gory liquid.

thinking about how much pain the victim would suffer if they got hit by a monofilament weapons... its scary.
and the horror of watching their flesh fall off into tiny pieces... oh my khaine... *shivers*

Unlikely actually. Well for one, a monofilament weapon that fit the actual description and was capable of cutting molecules would cause a gigantic explosion that would erase everyone in the immediate area. Secondly, it'd be so sharp you wouldn't feel a think. Ever cut yourself with a scalpel in biolab? I only realized I was bleeding when my glove was covered in fresh blood.

what?! i have never heard about it cutting molecules and causing explosions. that's not how it works man.
but not causing pain... well that's no fun. it better cause some damn pain.
