  1. Forgrim Forj Battle-Skald

    1. Too large a disparity between braced and unbraced fire for the Heavy Bolter for the number of useful brace points. Solution: increase opportunities to brace or make unbraced fire more effective
    2. Too few useful brace points in general. Many cover unimportant parts of the map, while the important parts must be covered by unbraced heavy weapons. Most good spots are too easily flanked. Solution: close down the number of flanking opportunities. This post starts a conversation about brace point design. This post describes how one brace point could be adjusted without making it impossible to counter.
    3. Map design forces ranged, and heavy weapons especially, into Close Quarters Combat. This is especially true of the design around Capture points, where the old WoW adage applies: fight on the point. This means that ranged have a hard time engaging at what Brent and Michael have described at the desired effective range: +30m. Solution: more open areas around Capture Points. Perhaps they are inside much larger rooms, to prevent long range sniping. Perhaps the two shortest/easiest/simplest approaches have long engagement ranges with sparse but good cover (and brace points! in both directions!)
    4. Melee has many tools to control the engagement, whereas ranged has one: kill them before they get close. Solution: Ranged need more tools to control the engagement. Some kind of stagger or stumble effect similar to the interrupted shooting (but less reliable or it would be OP)
    5. Owners of a Capture Point under attack respawn in open spaces that are already under fire. Solution: dedicated spawn points that are protected from immediate fire. Spawn cupboards, if you will. There would need to be multiples per point to stop farming.
    6. I personally find it too difficult to land enough hits on a moving target to down them with any kind of satisfying frequency, and according to the discussion that starts here, I'm not alone. Right now, the TTK on a moving target is usually enough for them to reach some of the overly plentiful cover, unless they're truly out in the open or oblivious. Solution: uncertain, as no-one has been able to nail down root cause(s). My feeling is that hit registration is affected by movement speed. It just needs looked into.
    7. There isn't really any kind of interesting choices in wargear for heavy weapons. Choose your weapon, put on armour for the toughness boost against base weapons (that incidentally does nothing against the power weapons used by many melee), and then as much Effective Health as you can fit into the LP limit. There is no opportunity to trade off lethality vs survivability: the options aren't available, and as the least agile class we can't afford not to focus on survivability. There is also no opportunity to customise playstyle. Solution: more wargear options for Heavy Weapons, more interesting ones, and mods for the weapons themselves

    Personal list of wants:

    1) Ork Weapons: ork heavy weapons still need to be tweaked, and all factions are still lacking any mods whatsoever for these guns (also please make mods for the rokkit launcha)
    2) Rewards beyond Rank 6: upon hitting Rank 6 there is very little reward left for playing
    3) More story inclusion: our factions honestly don't know why we're fighting, please give us reasons and story-based rewards
    4) RTC point costs need to be lowered, the current prices are exorbitant
    5) AP costs for higher Tier armors and add-ons for such things like the Iron/Golden Gob need to be lowered somewhat to properly reflect their bonuses and improve desirability amongst players
    6) Improved/Faction Themed Garrison: while functional, much can be done to improve the relatively mild tutorial experience for new players who know nothing of how to play as well, and also make it more desirable for players to use it
    7) In-game Communications: please bring back voice chat as attempting to coordinate with other players via the current typed chat is too unwieldy for effective play
    8) Veteran Classes: something needs to be done to make these more playable, as currently they're not worth much more than your standard character in a fight
    9) Plasma Cannon Spam: I'm sure you've heard enough about this so I'll leave it at that
    10) More sub-faction stuff: specific mods, customization items, weapon skins, even vehicles can have their own bit of flavor instead of being just repaints
  3. Alb - Alb Alb Steam Early Access

Uhh, well I guess I'll throw my opinions into the ocean of other opinions..

    1) plasma cannon. Super low TTK weapons in general and not fun to play against. You guys did something to its projectile speed, but that's not how I would balance it. It needs its damage toned waaay down. Down players only on direct hit. The super-mega-charge-ball needs to go, I see no way of keeping it. Normal charge ball is fine to have. Just nerf the damage.

    2) auto cannon sniping. It's a bit too accurate right now and needs some toning down.

    3) melee system and the d-bash. I want my stun to effect JPAs. No one should be allowed to dodge/roll out of a stun. Dbash needs a buff too (like a much further lunge, and reacts instantly to quick attacks). Durability shouldn't be used up if you win the RPS. I'm not sure why you guys nerfed the knife's durability either...

    4) animations. Things like vaulting over railings has a slight delay at the end of the animation, having you "standing" in mid air. Some executes and other animations seem to "have to come to a complete stop" before you can start moving again, this just makes the game feel a bit clunky and frustrating. Some animations are missing too, like dark reaper's "ready weapon" animation is always standing, etc. The animations need smoothed out in general.

I wasn't expecting to see this thread today and when I did see it I almost thought it was going to be something like the chaos spawn rantings that have plagued the Steam forums for this game. But I have to say I'm absolutely enthralled by almost all of the responses here. The community just coming together here is just really great and I love it. A lot of people have mentioned the game play fixes they'd like to see and I'd love to say some of my own but my expertise isn't as much as theirs and honestly everything has been said. So I'm going to list as much as I can in regards to other stuff about the game.

    1. Stay More In-touch: This topic is the best thing that could have happened in regards to this. While you guys do your weekly update posts as well as weekly streams, I don't think that's really enough. By having topics like this made every week you can really get the input needed to make the game's weekly updates better.

    2. War Party: The system quite frankly needs more work. You should be able to have an in-game friend's list so you don't have to fill up your friend list on steam. Furthermore, the party should never have to be dissolved all because someone cancels the queue.

    3. LP Adjustment: I feel there's some items that just cost too much and I can understand reasons behind the costs and all but it really limits the players a lot. Now I'm not saying you should be able to wear the third tier armor, wield a power fist, a plasma pistol, and have a melta bomb without repercussions to your choice but there's some room for being more forgiving with LP prices. I'm not asking for everything to get an LP cut and I'm not asking for everything that needs a cut to be 100 points less. Stuff like Sigils, some of the bought weapons, grenades, usable items, and other equipment should be affected by this. I would like to see a points drop for these things from anything between 25 and 100.

    4. Netcode/Ping: Now I can't say I've had much of an issue with it, but a lot of people keep bringing it up. Considering this is an online game and all I'd say this is perhaps one of the most important things to work on.

    5. Faction Changing: Not a main concern of mine, but I think it would be nice if we could, for example, take a CSM character who is in the Alpha Legion and then choose to have him be an Iron Warrior or any of the other Traitor Legions. Clearly not something that could happen mid-match, but just something that could add a little change of pace for playing the game. Granted, this would really only be a thing for the Space Marines as the Orks and Eldar don't have much different between their factions unless of course that changes in the future.

    1. More clear communication on for the most part everything.
    2. Updates on the balance of toughness vs penetration since penetration completely negates toughness wargear so it's not worth spending LP on it.
    3. Update to Melee so that ranged classes and support classes are not so shafted. As it stands they can't win vs a power sword+ no matter what they do.
    4. update the ranged combat, as it stands right now it loses in most cases. Adding cordors to maps where "ranged excell" isn't going to fix the problem just exaserbate it.
    5. Update on the missing RTS items and the base weapon types such as the splash burna *plasma gun equivalent for shoota boy* and kombi weapons.
    6. A update on maps with multiple objectives for maps that don't just boil down to holding points such as attacking a objective to destroy it or something that was talked about well over a year ago then just never updated on.
    7. Better unit visual customization. Why buy any customization when most of it gets hidden by the wargear give us the option to show the wargear or the RTS item it's not going to mess with the balance.

I can't make 10 because I'm leaving out the no brainer things that are being addressed such as performance and bugs.

    1. Boltgun Damage needs to be raised (these need to be addessed asap if you want newer customers to join and feel like they stand a chance)

    2. Heavy Bolters need to do similar damage to Autocannons. (why can't Space Marines have Autocannons they are suppose too)

    3. Lower Plasma Damage, but do more Damage to Vehicles. (they are insanely powerful and ruin the current meta), Make Lascannons quicker to charge. and make Las-pistols with smaller charge.

    4. Remove Melee lock -on (pretty standard reasons why this is needed)

    5. Lower Ork Melee Weapons to Space Marine standards. (with the melee as it is Ranged players have zero chance.)

    6. Orks and Chaos Fire and poison Weapons need to be toned down a lot. (they are incredibly overpowered compared to other factions)

    7. Raise Melta Damage on Players. (pretty obvious)

    8. Grenades on Tanks need to be more effective.

    9. Fix issues with ramps and small bumps stopping people from getting over them, i'm running up ramps and stopping dead at the tops like i ran into a wall..

    10. Eldar Tanks are just cheese at this time, even with the lowered health they are terrible to deal with, the running players over in areas they shouldn't be is silly.

  7. pinky EternalPink First Blood!

    1. Default bolter accuracy - with mods the bolter is useful but this handicaps everybody that is just starting as they have not had the time to get the requisition or the luck to get the useful stuff

    2. Dbash stun - its very easy to roll/jump and get behind someone trying to use which means it doesn't work and you kill them easily, i'd suggest a new head stamp animation that triggers if people try and roll to avoid your dbash and dbash having auto tracking once it reaches a set point

    3. Melee in general - There is to much advantage to getting behind someone in a fight so remove any bonus damage to the back once in combat so people use the counter system rather than trying to get behind you

    4. Load times into maps - very inconsistent and without trying to sound rude if i'm suffering them on an i7 with 16 gb of ram and 4 gb gpu with both OS, steam and game itself running off a SSD and a 50MB+ bandwidth connection then god knows how bad it is for peeps with lesser equipment/connections

    5. Game starting balance - not sure how much this is linked to 4 but its not really funny when you spawn into a game and its 6 v 12 for example, I had this playing as chaos against orks the other night and while they did try hard and for 6 of them they did a very good job (I don't usually comment on how well the other side played but on that scoreboard screen I did) by the time the sides had balanced we had captured everything and had to much of an advantage

    6. Relook at melta - While it was to effective against vehicles where it is now is just wrong and i'd suggest with future "nerf's" you do it on a more incremental basis since this feels more like knee jerk reaction to the whining than considered attempt to balance

    7. Tank cannons - Need to be increased against other vehicles so a tank can perform an anti-vhc role or we need to be able to create an anti-vhc variant

    8. Eldar vehicle kill - Add a minimum speed it must be travelling to do damage to remove the insta kill when its used to travel side to side which other vehicles can't do

    9. Option to unequip in loadout - Some weapons like pistols are mandatory but they also have a cost, let us choose whether we want to take a pistol into combat on a melee character

    10. Better melee weapons for ranged - It seems quite common in the fluff for peeps with bolters to also have a chainsword/powersword or other type of melee weapon so let ranged equip better melee weapon if they want, the LP cost of the respective weapons should provide the balance since the better you make a ranged character at melee the more you would handicap them for ranged/limit ranged weapon loadout, so you could have a tac with a bolter that can go to chainsword when a raptor appears to help support there squad of plasma/Melta/Combi bolter/knife carrying tacs

#1 Communication and feedback This thread is a nice idea. People need feedback about suggestions and complains they have. It is nice to know that you are reading it all, but people can not be sure about this without any kind of sign/feedback.

#2 Client-server connection Yes, we have EU servers and all, but still the connection is a big problem for many players and people thing that this is what creates lots of the threads about things being "op and unbalanced".

#3 - #7 Client-server connection Decided to chose this issue as the very most important.

#8 Look at the "not fun things"
Some weapons / mechanics get abused. They might work as intended in lore and stuff, but they kill fun for many people.

#9 Reasons for PvE Not sure if many people play it right now. For me the reason not to is the lack of "reasons" to beat it.

#10 Thoughts behind patch decisions I am sure you are doing patches, buffs and nerfes after a lot of investigations. But still some decisions are hard to understand (fx RoF nerf, while other things stay untouched). We should trust your descisions there, but it would still be nice to know your thoughts behind such things.

    1. Better servers (do we even have proper regional servers?).
Work on reducing the rubber banding and network lag in general - At least in Europe, it seems like the game servers (at worst) handle everything with a delay of approximately 1-2 seconds. (We also get funky lag compensation, I once had a plasma projectile round a frigging corner to hit me in the face when I dodged it)

Nr. 1 Is the biggest issue with the game for me at the moment, getting killed after rounding a corner by shots that clearly missed me on my end is not fun at all. And melee suffers a lot with this as well.

    2. Combat tweaks.
Make spam a little less effective, give tacticals and equivalents a chance in melee by reducing durability loss a bit. Take performance outliers and player feedback into account as fast as possible, minimize player frustration by taking action relatively fast.

    3. Rework clearly sub-par assets, do a second pass.
The game has some assets that look just plain too simple and (no offense) amateurish, its as if you are clearly lacking some or all of the following texture maps: normal, ambient occlusion, roughness and/or metallic. Or the texture maps have been done in a rush. (Dark reaper RTC shoulders are a clear example and some of the space marine stuff as well, the torso with the skull with wings is just plain gold with no texture to it watsoever?)

    4. Don't ask 10 k RTC for palette swaps.
These should be some of the cheapest stuff in their class, cosmetics with unique models (and badass looks) are stuff we can pay the larger tier sums for.

    5. Please make sure you get terminators and equivalents right (visually and gameplaywise).
The current work in progress models (especially for the termies) have their proportions waaay off, the shoulder pads are way too huge and the arms too small.

    6. Tweak elites, 2 tickets is just annoyingly little.
Find ways for players to play a little more of them, maybe allow two elite class slots, or add more tickets for actions performed. Maybe make them immune to being gibbed? Also refund elites if you get team killed from full HP, or something like that...

    7. Nerf the lawnmow-- falcon and wave serpent's hull (or roadkillyness as some would say).
Stop making them of antimatter, having the tank gently brush my shoulder should not cause instant annihilation.

    8. Find more ways to progress/more content.
Add more high tier stuff to do/gain, avoid mindless RNG grind (I've played enough Warframe to know it can suck big time).

    9. Get rid of the inventory limit, you are charging a premium, so don't stress your customers patience with strict limits that have the flavor of F2P all over them.
I don't really care for the RNG boxes, this inventory thing just escalates the issues with the supply boxes.

Example case: You want a specific item from a specific box, you get trash from a drop table, which takes up inventory space, once you get rid of said trash items clogging the inventory, you repopulate the drop tables with said trash, thus lowering your chances of getting what you want.

(no # 10 I've babbled enough, also thanks for the thread)
    LOBOTRONUS likes this.
  10. 1. A parry button for melee so we can actually fight back and/or remove stun effects (Really dislike stun as it takes away control from the player)

    2. Make the heavy support classes more like space marine, they're way too clunky at the moment and the only way to fire on the move is to zoom with middle mouse, why can't we run and gun semi auto with a heavy bolter like in space marine?

3.reduce RTC prices at least by half. I know you gotta put food on your plate but good god the RTC stuff is insanely expensive for what you get. Especially with Eldar

    4. make RTC stuff skin ONLY, also what's the deal with all the stuff on the rogue trader website? Did it get scrapped? Will it get added later? What happened to all the RTC i bought my chaos bike with?

    5. Make plasma guns fire slightly slower and add a 10% possibility that they explode if they overheat to make it risk vs reward. I think that would balance it out nicely.

    6. Remove bolter damage dropoff - Why was this even a thing?

    7. Might even be best just to completely rework melee. I've often suggested just copying Mount & Blade: Warband's system because it works very well and is competitive.

    8. Any word on free cosmetic stuff? I don't really feel the incentive to purchase much of the current cosmetic stuff, they don't really seem that blingy

9.I once made a big thread with all my feedback at one point and i tagged you in it, i hope you took a look at it as i was hoping it would hope :) @Oveur

    10. Any possibility for an updated sound for the stormbolter and heavy bolter? They don't seem 40kish enough and i thought the sound they had was just placeholder from the days of earliest alpha?

Cheers. Hoping to help out here! :D
